He was always just a simple phone call away for advice; an incredible and kind force. I can’t thank him enough.

9.9.2022 - during a clinic afternoon, my dad slipped out to have a MRI bc he had developed headaches + a visual field deficit. Immediately after, he was told to go get admitted. Instead, he went back to clinic and finished seeing his patients prior to getting care for himself 🥺

Sometimes I’m asked how I “do it all“ w/3 kids and a career. I don’t.
Career extras like research get put on hold when family requires more attention.
Life happens in stages- don’t be hard on yourself. You’re not supposed to accomplish it all at once.

3. Innovation demands courage from physicians + bravery from patients. @MarkDrazner emphasized the importance of finding meaning in work. As I shape my future career, being part of innovation for HF pts in dire need of better care sounds like a great way to ⬆️ meaning in my work
