बच्चों के आधार में दो बार बायोमेट्रिक अपडेट कराना अनिवार्य है। पहला अपडेट (एमबीयू-1) 5 वर्ष की आयु पर और दूसरा अपडेट (एमबीयू-2) 15 वर्ष की आयु पर।
इसके कई लाभ हैं, जैसे विभिन्न संस्थानों में प्रवेश के दौरान पहचान सत्यापन, प्रवेश परीक्षाओं में आसानी से आवेदन करना, छात्रवृत्ति के लिए आवेदन करना (जहां लागू हो) और अन्य कई लाभ।
