@zenjen53 I started crocheting because my daughter wanted to learn, and I had to learn how to do it before I could teach her. We've made a few stuffies using amigurumi. It's been a fun hobby. :)

@roastmalone_ You should definitely trellis the cucumbers, and you can also trellis the squash. That will help keep them under control and keep their fruit from lying on the ground. I've had good success with "Square Foot Gardening," but it means you have to stay on top of trellising and such

@AlexStandiford I think that we need to acknowledge the difference between being nice to someone and being kind to them. Niceness is often about making ourselves feel more comfortable, while I think of kindness being centered on the other person.

My wife shared a really thoughtful post about the concept of "nice", and how problematic the word is.
"At times it feels as though, “be nicer” is on equal footing with the much loathed gibe “you should smile more,” and it feels mildly paternalistic and insulting to me"
