I deal with strong emotion but writing and the only place I seem to be able to write is here on twitter. Some of you have asked me to write more but I have been writing here for sometime. At a suggest of oomf I am creating a thread of some of these posts.

Truth be told I have always suspected this is what Product management at these big social Networks is like and I feel bad for Nikita. You could not pay me enough to see the crap that passes through his desk.

@BitcoinErrorLog @wirelyss 80% of my day is working on spam. If we open another unmonitored method to write to our API, the product would implode and this would be the last post you see that is authored by a human.

@Benarasiyaa I think the poor guy has been framed. There has been no corruption in the country since 12 years. This could a plot by Rahul Gandhi to defame the nation.

@TheFacelessGuyy Instead of focusing on what Rahul Gandhi is doing to the country while being in power you are focusing on medieval history. And RG is too young to be called paw paw. Please refrain.

I don't want to speak ill of the departed but I think the Late Dr. Manmohan Singh must be blamed for this. No one has been at the helm of running the country after him after all. I guess we could demand accountability from Mr. Rahul Gandhi but he keeps denying that he is running the country.

@ku1deep Lehru ji must be held responsible, he choose Rs as denomination for us. Only if he had chosen $ it wouldn’t have been an issue.

@janwhyy Hi! have you considered that this is a legitimate cognitive response to rains. :-) There is a miracle happening right out side your window. Petrichor and all that. I don't think the human mind is built to ignore such things.

Political hot take of today - the middle class or taxpayer class has too much to lose by stepping out in revolutionary style. Middle class activism should be pointed financially. For example we saw many people come out one Sunday to clean gurugram. This is symbolic but another empty threat. The real threat is when we see mass office bunks on a weekday to go clean the streets. This is more than symbolic. For offices to run at half strength or worse would grab the necessary attention. Without this collective action directed at places that cause pain, nothing in the system will change. The problem again becomes one of organisation. How does one organise such a mass bunk? A question to ponder.

@Peswani_ Honestly I am ashamed. you are correct. The good doctor cannot share the blame alone. I do think Nehru and Indira gandhi should share the blame. Also this smells like a western conspiracy to defame India.

@ku1deep I think it’s extremely vile and hateful for you to blame Dr Manmohan Singh, when we actually should be blaming Jawaharlal Nehru.

A friend told me his Bangalore startup has allocated Claude Code limits for every engineer. If an engineer hits the limit faster than others, he is expected to give an explanation. We are not losing to AI. We are losing to f**king bureaucracy.

Jensen Huang: "If that $500,000 engineer did not consume at least $250,000 worth of tokens, I am going to be deeply alarmed. This is no different than a chip designer who says 'I'm just going to use paper and pencil. I don't think I'm going to need any CAD tools.'"

I went down a rabbit hole wanting to know more about this. Typical Late Antiquity/Early Roman Imeprial era (mid Satvahana dynasty era in India) depiction of Lakshmi have lotus as a consistent symbol. Also the prominent and exposed genitals imply she is actually a spirit rather than a "godess". Seems my hunch is right. The current belief is that this represents a Yakshini or at best a syncretic Venus-Lakshmi from a cultural exchange between greco-roman and indian cultures. the Museam itself has changed the description to this although they continue to maintain the name as pompeii/lakshi. Had so much fun reading up on this. Thanks for sharing.

This ivory statuette of Lakshmi - a goddess of wealth revered by early Hindus, Buddhists and Jains - was found in the ruins of Pompeii in 1938. The 25cm statuette is evidence of established Indo-Roman trade by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. ‘Secret Cabinet' of Naples Museum.
