“Have faith,” Jesus tells us in the #GospelOfTheDay (Jn 14:1). That is the secret! It is precisely this faith that frees our hearts from the anxiety of possessing and acquiring, and from the illusion that we must pursue a position of prestige to have worth. Each person already has infinite worth in the mystery of God.

On this memorial of St. Catherine of Siena, I invite you to join me in praying a prayer she wrote to the Trinity:
“Eternal God, eternal Trinity, You have made the Blood of Christ so precious through His sharing in Your Divine nature. You are a mystery as deep as the sea; the more I search, the more I find, and the more I find, the more I search for You. But I can never be satisfied; what I receive will ever leave me desiring more. When You fill my soul, I have an ever-greater hunger, and I grow more famished for Your light. I desire above all to see You, the true Light, as You really are. Amen.”

No one is excluded from God’s love! With our unique pasts, mistakes, and sufferings, each one of us remains precious in the Lord’s eyes. Jesus revealed this to us in His every encounter, gesture, and word. He loved us to the very end, showing us that he believed in the power of love to change even the hardest of hearts. #ApostolicJourney #EquatorialGuinea

On the first anniversary of the birth into heaven of our dear #PopeFrancis, his words and actions remain written in our hearts. We carry on his legacy by always proclaiming the joy of the Gospel, announcing God’s mercy, and promoting fraternity among all men and women.

@xmikemac The early Church Fathers believe Peter was Pope and had authority over the Church. They are the closest in time to the composition of the New Testament.
I am going with their interpretation based on Holy Scripture and Tradition instead of Martin Luther appx. 1500 years later

Peter never called himself the rock.
Not once.
Peter pointed to Jesus as the stone.
Paul said Jesus is the only foundation.
So no, the church is not built on Peter in some pope-chair, Rome-rules-the-world sense.
Peter got a new name, yes.
Peter got a new life, yes.
Peter got a huge role, yes.
But Jesus Christ is the foundation.
Peter was just a servant standing on that foundation like everybody else.
If Rome wants Peter to be the foundation, there’s a problem because:
Peter kept preaching Jesus.
Paul kept preaching Jesus.
The Bible keeps preaching Jesus.
That’s the church - Jesus. Period.

Christ calls us to freedom. He does not want servants or clients, rather He seeks brothers and sisters to whom He can totally dedicate Himself. To respond with faith to this love, it is not enough to hear Jesus speak: we must accept the meaning of His words. It is not enough even to just observe what Jesus does: we must follow and imitate Him. #ApostolicJourney #Angola vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

@CatahoulaCowboy @JennyWakefiel12 @grok It's so odd that so many of the people that rightly call out the lunacy of calling a male, a "woman", cannot comprehend how the Roman Catholic Pope is against war.

@JennyWakefiel12 @grok, give a comprehensive list of the logical fallacies made by Jenny Wakefield in her post.

As a Protestant, we have the freedom to find a church that adheres to scripture.
As a Roman, you have to surrender your intellect and accept everything that is handed down from the men in dresses.
Come Home to Rome@ComeHometoRome
As a protestant, you have to church shop to find the pastor who agrees with your interpretation of scripture. As a Catholic, you assent to the interpretation handed down by the Sacred written and oral tradition of the Apostles and their Successors.

Baseball legend Babe Ruth was a Catholic who wrote this letter about Communion, Confession and the Miraculous Medal:
“In December, 1946, I was in French Hospital, New York, facing a serious operation. Paul Carey, one of my oldest and closest friends, was by my bed one night.
- They’re going to operate in the morning, Babe, Paul said. -Don’t you think you ought to put your house in order?
-I didn’t dodge the long, challenging look in his eyes. I knew what he meant. For the first time, I realized that death might strike me out. I nodded, and Paul got up, called in a chaplain, and I made a full confession.
-I’ll return in the morning and give you Holy Communion, the chaplain said, -But you don’t have to fast.
-I’ll fast, I said. I didn’t have even a drop of water.
-As I lay in bed that evening, I thought to myself what a comforting feeling to be free from fear and worries. I now could simply turn them over to God. Later on, my wife brought in a letter from a little kid in Jersey City.
‘Dear Babe,’ he wrote, ‘Everybody in the seventh grade class is pulling and praying for you. I am enclosing a medal, which if you wear will make you better. Your pal—Mike Quinlan. P.S. I know this will be your 61st homer. You’ll hit it.’
-I asked them to pin the Miraculous Medal to my pyjama coat. I’ve worn the medal constantly ever since. I’ll wear it to my grave.”

@doc_rudman Someone's desire to go to a beach does not grant that person an easement over someone else's private property.
Kind of like if I wanted to see your back alley. I wouldn't come through your house or yard to get there.

@CoreyTrever5150 @catholicpat @BerzekSavant So you believe it's inappropriate to meditate on the Glorious Mysteries of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary after receiving the Eucharist?
English

@catholicpat @BerzekSavant You should be paying attention and be reverent to The Eucharist. Don't try to tell me your brain is special and can multitask because that's not true.
