Kentucky Basketball’s “Winner’s Board” and “Protect the Ball” rankings thus far for summer practice. Milan Momcilovic is leading the team in “wins”, which is measured daily in practice though drills and scrimmages. Protect the ball numbers show who the playmakers will be.

This batter gets ball four and runs down to first base. The catcher records an assist on the walk for an out. Watch closely and tell me, is he safe or out?

I bring home a trapped coyote and let it loose in the kitchen. Hackles up. Teeth bared. Pissing on the floor. My wife says, "Get it out." I tell her that is a very unwelcoming and unchristian way to speak about a future house pet. The children back into the hallway. I tell them it's a rescue. I tell them fences are fear. I tell them cages are barbaric. I tell them the old rules were cruel. I tell them it will domesticate in time. Then I grab my lunchbox and leave them to live with my principles. When I get home, there is blood on the floor, and the experts who sold me on compassion are already explaining why nobody could have seen this coming. Anyway, that's Western migration policy.

@TheEXECUTlONER_ It is obviously a double play. Do you think of the guy stays on first and a throw is made to second that he is somehow safe? Of course not. It is called a force play because he is forced to move. Had the fielder tagged first base before tagging the runner however, no force.

This men’s softball game has an interesting play. Runner on first less than two outs, batter hits a ground ball to first. The first baseman fields it but the runner from first never leaves the bag to run to second base. The first baseman tags the runner on first while he is still on first base and then tags the base with his foot. Many said that since the runner at first never left the bag, he is not out. 🤔 While others said the runner at first is forced to run. Without looking the rule up, I would say that is a double play. The batter is definitely out and the runner is out for being tagged. He is forced to run imho. What do you think? Without looking the rule up, who is out?

Let’s find the clowns who vandalized the Miracle League of Louisville field and hold them accountable. The league is for those with special needs. The field is rubberized, with wheelchair-accessible surface so everyone can play. My daughter Mya is in her fourth season in the league and game day is the highlight of our week. The pure joy that everyone from kids, parents, family members and volunteers experience every Saturday is such a beautiful thing to witness. Especially as a father of a special needs child. To disrespect what this field and league stands for is despicable. If you know anything about who may be responsible, please contact @LMPD.

Young players, this is the vast majority of the college coaching mindset. Young players, understand this: College athletics isn't a hobby. For coaches, it's their livelihood. Their job is to be competitive and win, and they'll play the best prepared players. Period. You're not owed playing time, a lineup spot, or opportunities. I've seen talented players coast through high school on athleticism and praise, only to get exposed in college because they never learned how to struggle, adapt, and compete. The players who last are the ones who:
• Work
• Fail
• Adjust
• Work more
• Earn opportunities
• Repeat Success is built through adversity, not comfort. Before chasing college athletics, ask yourself: "Am I willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win?" "Am I the type of player a coach would stake his career on?" If the answer is YES,that’s great. Get back to work, prepare and don’t stop. Chase your dreams. Get after it! Good luck.

⚾ The Texas Rangers celebrate everything from Whataburger to Barbie nights, but one tradition remains absent from their schedule. While every other MLB team is hosting an LGBTQ+ Pride Night in 2025, the Rangers are once again the league's lone holdout. Fans, advocates and longtime supporters say the absence continues to stand out as Pride Month begins. 🔗 Read more at bit.ly/449yXIz #TexasRangers #MLB #PrideMonth

@nut_history Comparing Ruth to modern players is like saying a car in 1930 couldn’t run with a new Corvette. Maybe if you put Ruth, as he was in his time, in todays game he would struggle, but I bet if you put Aaron Judge in 1920 with everything else as it was, he would struggle as well.

@nut_history And they all talk about an overweight dude ripping cigarettes against players in a segregated sport. Babe Ruth might be good at beer league softball if he had to compete today.

I signed to UCLA my junior year of high school and was told I was going to start Day 1. Opening Day at UCLA? I was sitting the bench. 😭 I had 2 choices: 1. Complain, pout, and blame the coaches OR 2. Find the holes on the team and become valuable. So for 3 weeks, I sat the bench. I showed up early. Stayed late. Cheered for my teammates. Dragged the field every 3rd inning. Meanwhile, I studied the team. The middle infielders were doing well. Third base wasn’t. So I told the coaches: “I can play third.” Then I noticed something else: Offensively, we were either hitting home runs or getting out. I saw the gap. If I could become a tough out, get on base, and bring energy to the team… I could create value. Then we played Miami. The starting third baseman was hitting .115. They gave me a shot. I went 2 for 3 with a walk. Played solid defense. Brought energy. I never sat the bench again. Eventually, I became team captain… and we were ranked #1 in the country. One thing baseball taught me: Opportunities don’t always go to the most talented player. Sometimes they go to the player who becomes the most valuable.

Every player on the planet needs to hear this — over and over again: Remove all the “stuff” — results, expectations, distractions — and just compete. Compete. Compete. Compete. At the end of the day, it all comes down to becoming the ultimate competitor. Breathe. Center your thoughts. Lay it on the line and compete.
