@mass_ave The fact he's concerned with so-called Catholic integralists but has no self awareness that he is the protestant/evangelical equivalent is not lost on me

@DnuLkjkjh Ill be doing this too. Even though I like the idea of it having a memory file I think it's worth having a belt and suspenders here.

i added explicit CLAUDE.md rules after a similar incident — "never use --admin or force flags on any git operation" and "treat any non-200 CI response as failure, do not interpret error codes." a 502 is ambiguous to the model — not a clear test failure, so it reasons its way around it. also worth scoping the agent git token to remove admin/bypass permissions entirely so even if it tries, the operation gets denied server-side.

No big deal, just Claude Code casually pretending that Github checks returning a 502 error equates to them all passing and using the --admin flag to force merge a PR 🙃 Luckily it was a small PR but this is pretty disappointing. Here's to hope it's memory sticks.

It threw me for a loop this morning seeing MY name in Overcast. Thanks for @brendanwb and @ryanrfrisch for having me on The Rails Business podcast. I really enjoyed it!

Has anyone had Claude Code make changes even when it's in plan mode? First time I've seen this but just a little concerning.

Has anyone vibe-coded a browser extension that hides all the bullshit Quickbooks tries to sell you even after you tell them no every... single... day?

@yongfook Yesterday I was sleep deprived and did an almost entirely hands-off deployment of a brand new Rails app w/ some custom goodies on Hetzner in about 30 minutes. Idk I think this is getting way easier now.

It's crazy that we live in a time where AI can help build any app you want... ... but to deploy it live there's still only like 3 choices Heroku, DO, or roll your own infra.

@brennandunn We had to use SAP recently to invoice a customer and I’ve never felt so much pain from using a piece of software. I’m convinced they get big enough that they just stop caring / know they have a captive audience due to the millions of dollars their clients spent implementing it

😅 Anytime I think my software's shit, I just need to remember that a multi, multi, multi billion dollar org built this:

Using AI to help code is helping me break the habit of committing directly to main. There are times I still miss it for simple fixes but having the safeguard in place to prevent agents from going rogue and being able to deploy code is far more worth it.

TIL that with Rails you can use `distinct` before `pluck` and it will build the SQL to efficiently return your results. The code below produces the following SQL and returns it as an array: SELECT DISTINCT type FROM users;

@jnunemaker The removal of friction that these tools bring is crazy. I pushed more updates yesterday than I do sometimes in a week or more, I’m quickly finding that in order to keep the momentum I actually need to get better at organizing and shaping the work that needs done next.

My new favorite workflow: go to Honeybadger, find an error that happens a lot. Export it as markdown. Make a new workspace in conductor, paste it in and let it rip. Test, merge, and deploy. Customers problems are just melting away now.

I know folks are all over Fizzy right now, but has anyone come up with an easy way to have Claude Code access a Basecamp card table?
