Anyone who surfed the early web between 1995-2010. What’s the one website/app you still think about?

@typeangled Yeah thanks, I liked what I saw, but don’t think I can stay on a platform that I had this kind of experience with. I was able to migrate to Railway in fairly short order so my downtown was minimal, but it;s not the best way to spend your Friday night 😆

@kylekeesling @render That sucks. Surprising, to be honest. I've had very positive experience with Render in last four years, and quick support responses as well, both on email and on their forum. Hope it gets resolved soon for you.

I’m now at over 12 hours of having @render without warning or recourse suspend my account. I had both of my production apps full speed ahead and was actually quite happy with the service. I emailed them, the only option they gave me, and have yet to hear back.

@jnunemaker Yeah I _want_ to be sympathetic to them, but this was a shitty way to spend my Friday night

@kylekeesling Wow. That’s aggressive. Tough in hosting with scam miners and stuff. Almost need to bill ahead or something to stay safe on their end.

Horrible. Glad Kyle got moved to railway quickly. Truly amazing how fast you can move compute these days without even planning for it.

@jnunemaker My card only failed because we use Ramp and have default spend limits on our cards, and I know we can’t be alone in doing that.

@kylekeesling Agreed. Has to be a better triage system for a company like render. Or some way to verify so you don’t get blocked.

While this was a fire drill from hell, the steps needed to migrate were still fresh in my mind from when we moved to Render, which I also think helped with the quick turnaround.

@Railway I also highly leverage Rails credentials to store app secrets and configs. I still have a few ENV vars that I should have documented better, and since have, but I was able to scramble quickly enough to get those values set.

Enter @Railway to save the day. With a little help from my buddy Claude and their CLI I was able to migrate both apps and be back online within an hour. I already hosted our databases with a third party, which made the switch much easier.

nothing has caused as much internal rage this past week than what @amazon did to their delivery emails. my hope and prayer is that whoever made this decision stumps their big toe an uncountable number of times today.

@jeremysmithco That’s good reasoning. I have to use structure.sql in multiple projects due to using Postgres-specific functionality.

Last week I migrated a Rails app from structure.sql back to schema.rb, AMA.

Is it me or does it seem pretty silly to be butt-hurt that they keep extending Fable usage? What can you honestly be doing that would change so drastically based on you having Opus 4.8 versus Fable.

David Byrne created a rare moment at the Santa Barbara Bowl Tuesday April 14 when he pointed to the sky as a flaming Falcon 9 Rocket launch burst from the darkness from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The crowd turned and cheered for both. (Video: Richard Weston Smith)

@mass_ave The fact he's concerned with so-called Catholic integralists but has no self awareness that he is the protestant/evangelical equivalent is not lost on me
