And when the Next Gen came out; there was tons of hate because it “wasn’t Star Trek” and the cast probably was in fear from the fans. Again when the series with Bakula came out, it too was panned by the fans because it “wasn’t Star Trek.” Star Trek is different for everyone. 🤷🏼

I doubt he will ever do this, but if Eddie Howe wanted to show that he was serious about being Newcastle United’s manager and serious about evolving himself as a manager too, then he would ditch Jason Tindall and bring in a new assistant with new ideas. The best managers change their assistants. This Howe/Tindall double act needs to come to an end if Howe is to achieve any longterm success at club level. I genuinely think it’s the only thing Howe can do to be a longterm success at the club. Unfortunately, I think he’s too loyal to Tindall to ever even consider it. #NUFC

Star Trek exists in more than one world. It exists in the fantasy of science fiction - weird and wonderful things that play unimaginable possibilities of exploration and human endeavor. But it also exists in the fantasy of human beings, the perfection of human beings, the exploration that human beings have made since the dawn of time and the continuing exploration - physically mentally and morally. It’s that aspect of Star Trek that I’ve always loved, to look at something physically that doesn’t exist now by these talented writers & designers but also to tackle the eternal human questions the agonies, the ecstasies. Star Trek should exist for a long time to come based on those truths. I for one would love to see its continuity. It’s with sorrow that I hear about the cancellation of the new Star Trek series.

I know he’s apologised for this, and rightly so, but that doesn’t erase the fact that he’s so quickly tried to make a joke out of the racism allegations. Genuinely can’t believe he’s allowed himself to casually just use it as a segway into a joke. It’s that type of thing which is why racism is still allowed to go unpunished throughout the game. And I say all this as a Toon supporter.

@zaryaismywife i believe filming finished some time ago. but i wouldn't be surprised if they filmed season 2 with an eye on a possible ending.

even as someone not particularly interested in this series, it always stings to see a streaming project cancelled after one season airs. television shows just aren’t allowed to grow anymore. i hope they at least get to film a real ending for their fans

This is a real shame - this was a great cast, and a fun set of characters. It would’ve been nice to see them get the full four years that Kurtzman had planned. My biggest annoyance with this is going to be that they’ve already confirmed the second season ends on a big cliffhanger. I really hope they are afforded the opportunity to either remove it, or film additional footage to wrap it up nicely à la Discovery’s final episode.
