@nealjclark1 In the late 90s my parents owned a seedy hotel in a small river town that primarily catered to hunters. We had hitchhikers sleeping in tents n the front yard, local bums doing laundry, and the sheriff would house overflow prisoners for the night there sometimes. Learned a lot.

If you read a lot of noir books and stuff from the 40’s/50’s it’s pretty clear that a lot of people lived in motels. Not just criminals but nurses etc. I’ve never known anyone to live in a motel. I don’t think the abundant American world was real. Life has always been dangerous.

My BBQ takes after visiting & living across this great country.
1. KC overall has the best BBQ
2. Texas has the top BBQ item overall in brisket (also has the best jalapeño sausage & beans)
3. There is ZERO reason to go anywhere else in the country for BBQ other than KCMO/TX

@l0ftzilla i dont know if that's left wing, but as a matter of aesthetics, it seems normal to me. it's normal to plaster your living and work spaces with representations of your natural passions — here being tapper's interest in politics. it's unnatural to be a walking gender cliche

Just realized they crammed Knowles's set with a bunch of urban masculinity cliches, and then made Walsh's set the rustic counterpart. So instead of "Batman aesthetics," he has the fish, stone fireplace, and canoe-shaped-shelf with tiny old books. An example of gender performance
