@samlambert You should place your trust in postgres, and supabase does it reasonably well within certain constraints, and of course if your needs grow, the next logical step is planetscale now that it has postgres general availability.

I am saying this from a purely technical perspective. If you are hosted on a platform that is doing so badly that they have to do this then you are hosted in the wrong place and should migrate.

@Hesamation @AnthropicAI @bcherny It is already possible with @zeddotdev native claude code integration
English

if anthropic released an IDE with their own claude integration and a lighter design and less bloat than vscode… the software industry would collectively lose its fucking mind overnight.

Cursor users, why are you still using Cursor?
I'm not trying to joke about it, I'm genuinely curious
Claude@claudeai
The VS Code extension for Claude Code is now generally available. It’s now much closer to the CLI experience: @-mention files for context, use familiar slash commands (/model, /mcp, /context), and more. Download it here: marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName…

@dillon_mulroy If this can fix github, you should sell it to GH

"Claude Code just SAVED my marriage!"
I gave Claude Code 512 GB of HEAVILY corrupted wedding footage from a close friend of mine, and within 10 minutes, recovered it all.
Two days ago, I got some bad news from a buddy telling me how the only copy of their wedding videos was corrupted to do a severe fault in the memory card.
Just like that, someone's happiest day turns into a nightmare. The footage was practically gone, nothing was able to read the memory card, and the only option was to pay thousands of $$$ or let it go.
Until I had an idea...
What if I plugged in the memory card and let Claude Code have a go at it.
It first made a copy of the corrupted files onto my computer using PhotoRec as to keep the original drive untouched. For context, I have never done anything like this before, it did this itself.
It looked at memory slices from the IDR, then began using FFMPEG to reconstruct the SPS, IDR, P/B, etc. all without me touching it once.
I come back to the full 512GB of uncorrupted video I can send back to my good friend. The power of Claude Code is insane.

@JLarky TanStack's API is well and truly amazing. I would prefer tanstack's mental model that works anywhere over Next.js's compiler magic, the abstractions are patterns are very neat. My bet is on tanstack!

@samlambert @PlanetScale more postgres extensions like pgmq and stuff

@saltyAom I think initially we wanted to build our app quickly so we choose hono, but we realized now that soon we need a better abstraction layer so elysia is a good choice for us next, I hope elysia sticks around long enough for us move forward to.

I hope @harjotsgill can go enjoy his Christmas and holidays :)
He is very impressive founder who clearly knows how to build something people want.
His company is more successful than 99.999% of startups and he is an early mover into a massive market.
Cursor Bugbot goes head to head with them everyday and, though we feel we have a great product, they are clearly doing good things too.
That being said, this is a good lesson in how little upside there is to trying to correct a user. Feedback is a gift and users are truly always right.

There’s bad software.
There’s bad user experiences.
Then there’s the CEO and founder publicly blaming you for not knowing how to use their product.
This is the biggest sign to stay away, even if they have a better product today.

@Digital_Reverie @aidenybai @aravindputrevu Of course that’s on him. See screenshots!

Aiden - you clearly have no idea about what you are talking about. We have more users than everyone you just mentioned (combined). See aitooltracker.dev Still, I am curious how we can make it simpler and fool proof for indie developers. Maybe simpler controls and a lot of handholding can help.
