When Juan Soto was struggling two months into the season, the Mets were still the best team in baseball. And what did Soto do? He ran straight to the batting cage to grind for his next at-bat. THAT’S what I want from my players! Especially after signing that contract. Stay in the trenches, work on your craft, and show me you care. Don’t just chill in the dugout smiling like everything’s good.
The Mets were the 5th oldest team in MLB last year, so let’s kill that “He gotta be there for the youth” BS narrative. Now, 2026 is a whole different story, and we’re seeing Soto step up and embrace the young guys! #LGM

Mets lose 5-4 to the Phillies.
Missed opportunities were the story today. New York was 2-for-16 with runners in scoring position. They left 14 runners on base.
Ewing's pinch-hit homer was a highlight and honestly, other than the pitch to Schwarber, Senga pitched alright. You'd absolutely sign up for 2 ER in 5 IP from him. It was the lack of execution in run-scoring situations that doomed this team once again today.
The Mets are back down to 14 games under .500 with today's loss (35-49). They're 3-10 in their last 13 games.
