@ajikor Ngurrban: I don’t know if it’s a Wolof or Serer dish. My mum used to make it, esp. for sick people. The main ingredients are sanhal, groundnut powder, smoke fish, dahar/lemon, tomato paste, spice, etc. You mix all & cook it like a soup. Is usually sour and spicy, taste so good

Asalamualaikum Gambian Twitter. I'll appreciate your help on developing a list of Gambian dishes/tribe. Specifically on dishes that aren't well known/mainstream. Dishes our great grand mum or mum used to cook that we don't anymore. Dishes only your tribe knows about.

Derek Chauvin convicted of all charges for the murder of #GeorgeFloyd. The protest did that. Black women did that. Black lawyers did that. Is not because of a good justice system. The system is broken, justice is having our black folks alive. #DefundThePolice

#Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslims! May Allah give us the strength, health and means to fast, and accept all the duas we make in this holy month. May HE strengthen our imaan and guide us to continue doing good beyond Ramadan. Aameen!

Another life lost to police violence is one of the oldest storylines of Black history, from slave patrols in the 17th century to traffic stops in the 21st century. This catastrophic storyline will never end until we end policing as we know it. Rest in our struggle #DaunteWright

-We don’t want the hashtag. -Don’t want to wait an hear an explanation after all the facts come out. -We are tired of offering thoughts and prayers in response to thoughtless law enforcement. We want to make it home. We want our families to make it home. #DaunteWright

Imagine being raped and murdered in your own house. It’s heartbreaking! Rape is often perpetrated by people close to us and not strangers. Rapists are people we live with, eat together and watch TV together. Rest in peace #MarieMendy #SaveGambianWomen
