Who would have thought that mentally unwell children would get worse after you chop off their genitals and turn them into lifelong medical patients?
TERFs. That’s who. TERFs knew this all along.
We raised concerns early—about safeguarding, about evidence, about what it means to put vulnerable young people on irreversible medical pathways—and for that, we paid the price.
We were threatened, shouted down, and dismissed. Many of us were assaulted, both verbally and physically, simply for speaking plainly about sex, bodies, and reality.
Women lost jobs, reputations, and friendships. Some were reported to the police or investigated, not for harming anyone, but for expressing views that, not long ago, would have been considered ordinary and uncontroversial.
And still, we kept going. Not because it was easy, far from it but because the stakes were too high to stay silent.
Because children deserve protection, not ideology. Because questioning powerful systems, especially when they involve lifelong medicalisation, is not cruelty—it’s responsibility.
Now, as more people begin to ask the same questions, there’s a quiet, uncomfortable recognition of what was said all along.
Not out of malice, but out of concern. Not to exclude, but to safeguard. And certainly not to harm but to prevent it.
Terfs were right, we were always right.
