Well you certainly wouldn’t be mistaken for thinking so if you see this week’s front cover of @TheEconomist One of Russia’s richest oligarchs personally spent SIXTY HOURS spoon-feeding Russian propaganda and Kremlin talking points to an Economist journalist. And the correspondent just lapped it all up. This sanctioned oligarch’s factories feed the Russian war machine that manufactures ammunition that every day rains down on Ukraine. I see and live the catastrophic reality of that complicity every single day in the relentless, brutal killing of innocent civilians. To give this man a polished platform while his enterprises fund the slaughter of Ukrainians is a shameful editorial failure. He is the financial lifeline of a murderous, illegal war. He does not belong on media pages; he belongs in the dock of a war crimes tribunal.

Today is a Super Tuesday for EU enlargement.
For the first time in over 2 decades, we are holding four accession conferences on the same day.
Our four front runners Ukraine, Moldova, Albania and Montenegro are all taking major steps forward.
With Ukraine and Moldova, we are opening Cluster 6, covering areas like defence and security where the case for their EU membership is especially strong.
Albania will close its first chapters. And Montenegro is firmly in the endgame of formal negotiations having closed 18 of 33 chapters.
Today’s momentum must now be turned into delivery on the ground.

Europe has been buying record amounts of Russian gas every month this year. In several months Europe passport every single LNG tanker that has left the Arctic.
At the same time Europe is pushing forward on the full scale ban on Russian imports of gas starting in January.
this is insane.
on the one hand. Brussels wants to punish Russia by banning gas (which will all go to Asia anyway) and on the other hand it’s facing an energy crisis with the lowest levels of storage of gas in tanks for years.
