We are not a total free market economy. Nobody ever said that we were, because there is basically no such thing in reality. We are also under no obligation to give countries that want to harm us or our economy access to our markets.
Also, that didn’t answer the question. You just stated why they don’t have access to our economy, not why they need access to it.

The US has a history of sanctioning countries it doesn’t agree with, to cause economic and political instability to reinstall a new gov in their favor

I understand IP pretty well. The issue is now this is public. There literally no way to put this lid on. The courts will weigh whether you effectively protected the data leaked and your actions afterwards. You cannot out the genie back in the bottle and the courts cannot punish everyone who makes a wish now.
