Your junior staff speaking up isn't enough, you need to create a space where it's okay for them to try and fail. And you need to be willing to check your own preconceived notions. Use your experience to ask questions to make their plan stronger... and sometimes say no!

An important reminder to Dem Politicos: empower your junior staff to speak up and share their ideas, and--more importantly--actually take the time to *hear* them. It's time to swing for the fences, but the longer you work in politics the more tired, and cautious, you get (1/5)

As insane as this sounds, it’s true: Pam Bondi sent Minnesota officials a letter today saying ICE would leave the state if Minnesota turns over its voter files to the Trump Administration. They’re openly using state violence as a bargaining chip to seize election infrastructure.

Statement from the family of Alex Pretti, Michael and Susan Pretti:  “We are heartbroken but also very angry.    Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. I just watched the whole 60 Minutes segment on CECOT and Trump that was killed by Bari Weiss and… wow. It was devastating for Trump and highlighted how brutally this regime has treated people. Here are some notes I took:

The average monthly SNAP benefit is $177 a person. The average ACA benefit is up to $550 a person/mo. People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives. Working people want leaders whose word means something.

AOC’s exactly right here. The takeaway from last night can’t be that Dems need to run candidates like Mamdani everywhere or run like Spanberger everywhere, but that a big tent Democratic Party has to have room for both.

Just watched the AG debate and didn't hear Miyares say he'll stand up to Trump on behalf of Virginians. It's heartbreaking hearing all the stories of Virginians being unfairly fired only to have an AG who ignores them.
