@CernBasher Helpful to understand Tesla’s risk/reward balance: Austin wait times are still high. Why not add more vehicles there too (even temp supervised) while growing unsupervised (more data too)? Not suggesting recklessness - clearer comms on priorities vs new cities would be great.

Tesla and Elon are making the impossible late. BUT, Tesla projected 20M cars/year in 2030. Will most likely also miss by 90%. Elon projected 50% of US population will be covered by RoboTaxi end of 2025, also missed by 99.9%. So they’re not blameless $tsla
Xill@Xil_llix

Some people blame @elonmusk for being late on Tesla @robotaxi when every other Legacy manufacturer fumbled on their transition to BEVs. There is apparently no accountability for legacy manufacturers. Ford targeted a run rate of 2,000,000 BEVs by EoY26. Their current annualized run rate is 27,440, missing the mark by over 98%.🤦🏼‍♂️ GM targeted a run rate above 1M by EoY25, current off by nearly 90%. Here were the documented projections (thread) form the most important legacy manufacturers:

@JoeTegtmeyer Some progress, but why fuss over this given that if TSLA really could scale RT, they could simply use MYs initially. Fact is FSD isn't ready.

Something big has changed at Giga Texas with Cybercab production … ~ 14 in the outbound lot WITHOUT STEERING WHEELS! Earlier this week, the production line has begun what we are all waiting for and I would expect to see many more starting on Monday, 4/20 🤠 A big step forward!

@wholemars System 7.x UI wasn't pushing boundaries even in '95. Brilliant of Jobs to ditch classic Mac OS for OS X, which has more semblance to OpenStep. Unlike TSLA CEO, he didn't do it recklessly and kept Apple's core strengths alive.

@SawyerMerritt We've gone through similar episodes far too many times to trust Elon's words about FSD. I'm not claiming he's a liar, but he's definitely out of his depth.

@daltonbrewer He's saying that because of AI5 supply constraints in 2027 - I sure hope it truly isn't needed for Unsupervised FSD.

@wholemars Absolutely. Anthropic is executing rather well with meaningful traction and delivery. I hope execution at TSLA improves.

The market doesn’t give a fuck what your current numbers are. The value of the company is in its future earnings. Last year’s revenue is only relevant insofar as it can help you guess next year’s revenue. What the market is telling you here is that it expects Anthropic’s earnings to surpass Samsung’s. Don’t look at the revenue, look at the growth rate of both companies and then project where their numbers will be in the future.
shirish@shiri_shh

Anthropic IPO valuation: $850B Samsung valuation: $800B Anthropic revenue: $30b. Samsung revenue: $230b.

@SawyerMerritt 45 days ahead?!!!?? The ONLY projects Mr "Johnny Come Lately" is ahead of schedule on are ALL xAI. I suppose he's going to say next that FSD and Roadster are ahead of schedule as well.

@OverlyTrev Both a HW3 owner / investor and voted Robotaxi. The reason for this vote is I suspect the key limiting factor now is compute, which Elon sadly diverted to xAI - not a problem that can be solved overnight. what's I'm after is a time commitment and plan moving forward. Pissed.

@niccruzpatane only appropriate TSLA provide a decent summary AND time commitments. Would you find it acceptable if it'll take another 5 years? Suspect part of the reason is they're still compute constrained and guess where the HW went to. If Elon can't be mature then the board should step in.

Elon has answered this question before. Via Q4 2024 Earnings Call: "We are going to have to upgrade Hardware 3 for people who bought FSD. That’s the honest answer. It’s going to be painful and difficult but that’s what we’re going to have to do." Tesla hasn’t forgot about HW3 Tesla customers.

Ferrari has released a new video of the interior for its first ever all-electric car, called the Ferrari Luce. It was designed with Apple's former head of design, Jony Ive, who recently said "a large touchscreen doesn't work in a car." Car info: • Four-door four-seater • 122 kWh battery • 330 miles of range (European rating methods) • 1,000 horsepower • 0-60mph: Under 2.5s • Four electric motors • OLED screens • Guess cluster screen is made up of several layers. By cutting out holes in the upper layers, Ferrari created displays where the speedometer graphic is below the level of a physical needle, which is itself behind additional drive info and beneath a curved inset lens. • Will have fake gear shifts • Weight: 5,100 lbs
