President @KagutaMuseveni today welcomed @Starlink’s commitment to comply with Uganda’s laws and regulatory requirements as the company prepares to commence operations in the country. This followed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between @UCC_Official and Starlink by @UCC_ED and Mr. @ryangoodnight, Senior Director for Market Access and Development at @SpaceX. Also present were the United States of America Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. William Popp, and the Permanent Secretary at @MoICT_Ug, Dr. @azawedde.

I witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and operational licence agreement between the Uganda Communications Commission and Starlink, marking an important step towards the commencement of their operations in Uganda. Our interest is security, revenue assurance, and proper accountability within the telecommunications sector so that we know who is operating and who the customers are. I am pleased that Starlink has agreed to comply with Uganda’s laws and regulatory requirements as it prepares to begin service delivery in the country. I wish them good luck.

Former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi has expressed happiness following his wife’s entry into Parliament, saying he has finally gotten a new job, as the Personal Assistant and consultant to Jacqueline Mbabazi. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at Parliament, after Jacqueline took oath as MP to represent the Elderly from Western Uganda, although the former Premier first declined to speak to journalists on grounds that the day was for the wife to shine not his, but after some pleading, he allowed to speak and expressed hope that the 12th Parliament would perform well because it has effective voices like Jacqueline’s.

She said Uganda’s oil and gas industry should be viewed not only as a natural resource opportunity, but as a platform for building national capacity through technical expertise, innovation and industrial growth. “The true wealth of a nation is not what lies beneath the ground, but the productive capability of its people,” she noted. Ms Kagina highlighted the role of transferable skills gained in the oil and gas sector, including occupational safety, technical precision, project management and digital competencies, as critical enablers for employment and growth across infrastructure, manufacturing, energy and other sectors. He is not just a President. He is a father, a connector, and a protector of nations. What an honour to call him ours. It might take you time for that to click, but I promise you one day it will. I met President @KagutaMuseveni alongside Maama @JanetMuseveni last year. And I will be honest with you - when you have never been close to real power, you see the world completely differently. I knew about him, the way most of us know about him but those few minutes sent me somewhere else entirely mentally that I will never recovered from. I went home and I invested myself in understanding who this man actually is. Read all his books, every interview, every public record I could find. I watched him, listened to him, watched how he moves with his convoy. And I think those SFC guys have a genuinely hard time with him because Mzee does not care about security protocols when he is with his people. He stops anywhere, he walks out and he greets people just like that😁 Something still blows my mind, there is nothing or few things in this world he doesn’t know about, and a super photographic memory. One thing y’all might remember very well, the immediate switch from the PDM tours to the Campaigns, at 81? Howww is he able to do that? My mind had one answer and one answer only He has never stopped dreaming. To single out, there is a Dream he has carried for decades. East Africa building a centre of gravity on this continent so that we can defend ourselves from what y’all know very well, we know they will come back one day. That dream is still burning in him. And that is one of the many dreams that won’t let him slow down. Dreams and purpose does not age and People do not grow old from years. We grow old the day we stop dreaming. A 25-year-old who has quit dreaming is older than Mzee. I pray he lives to see every part of that dream set in motion. Congratulations @KagutaMuseveni.
