The MTA Board today approved a refund for LIRR customers who hold May monthly tickets, for the four days that service was suspended due to a labor action. That would amount to an approximately 13% refund, which will be automatically applied to a customers’ payment method if tickets were purchased in the TrainTime app. If you purchased via a commuter benefits card, the refund will be applied there. @LIRR It should be every day not just business days. Some of us use our monthly on the weekends too.

Since the LIRR service suspension went into effect, we’ve gotten a lot of questions about monthly ticket refunds. We intend to issue prorated refunds to May monthly ticket holders for each business day that service is suspended due to the strike, pending approval from the MTA board.
