@TheGreenParty Funny, I thought the top 1% pay 30% of taxes 🤔. Let's just tax the rich to the hilt, reduce business activity, collapse GDP, and we'll all get poorer, but it'll let this Greeny feel satisfied with her virtue signalling.

@Artemisfornow The Robert Maxwells of the political world. If they knew how to grow an economy they would be able encourage investment firms to buy into their projects instead of this government managed larceny. They should loose their gold plated taxpayer funded pensions for this.

‼️ WTF? Whilst you were distracted … Labour has just voted through powers to FORCE pension funds to invest your money in UK government ‘priorities’. Meaning Labour effectively takes control of up to 10% of your private pension to invest in bollocks. I call that theft. How dare the government take MY money for their projects. WTF?

@BotFinderUK @LouSirr101 You make assumptions on political allegiance based upon someone questioning your post. You're actually quite a moronic pillock.

@StuartSlaney2 @BotFinderUK What's that got to do with this post? Are you implying that anyone who disagrees with the failed socialist economics of "tax, tax, tax the rich" are automatically Reform supporters?

You won't hear a peep about this from Farage, Tice or Jenrick. Under the Tories, up to 400 hotels were being used to house asylum seekers. With Labour, there are now just 185, with 11 more hotels re-opening to the public, saving the taxpayer £65 million a year.
Alex Norris MP@AlexJJNorris

There were more than 400 asylum hotels under the previous government – that number has been more than halved, with 11 more closing this week. Labour is bringing the asylum system under control.

@RobertJudd4 @hol40900 Bang on 👍. The zeolots have no answer for wind and solar having such low average generation factors. Without massive energy storage (which won't be viable for decades, if ever), fossil fuels, nuclear, hydro etc will need to provide the base generation for the foreseeable future.

Everyone in this energy sector and the government accepts UK will need fossil fuels long into the future and beyond 2050, stop putting all UK eggs into wind and solar, its not cutting bills, keep developing our own gas and oil, while we look at clean nuclear, look at brilliant untapped hydro, stop this EV fixation with expensive battery manufacture & enormous heavy vehicles, use hydrogen fuel cells, no range anxiety, no massive impractable charging net work, fill it like a petrol car, byproduct is water, HGVs currently unable to be EVs can use it along with plant machinary. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Caroline Lucas is right. North Sea output has collapsed, investment is falling off a cliff and new fields would take years to come online. Renewables already generate over half our electricity—and do it faster, cheaper, and without wrecking the climate.🌍

@SaulStaniforth What it would bring in is tax revenue, jobs, foreign earnings and provide Europe with energy security.

Caroline Lucas explains why more drilling in the North Sea wouldn't bring our energy prices down & it would take years to come on line, but what will bring prices down is more renewables & energy efficiency, its quicker to achieve and it doesn't drive climate change #GMB

🚨Germany, UK, and Poland on Russia’s “target list” Russia has published a list of European factories allegedly producing drones and equipment for Ukraine. The list includes facilities in Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic — as well as companies in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and Israel. Medvedev reacted on X, saying the Defense Ministry’s statement should be taken literally: “When the strikes become reality depends on what happens next. Sleep well, European partners!” In reality, this reads as a direct threat toward NATO and EU countries.

@RubyBeech He's not strong enough a leader to stand up to the hoards of Ladour hard left wingers. Most of these know they'll lose their seats at the next election and will not yield on their idealistic mission.

There is a new rage over 'mini-nuclear reactors'. Here's some facts. First ones aren't until AT LEAST 2035. They cost $667KW, that's the highest cost of ANY electricity. Twice regular Nuclear, 10x Wind and 15x Solar. It's utterly useless nonsense.

The tail end of the internal combustion engine industry will be messy, and hard to predict. There will come a time when there are still plenty of ICE vehicles on the road, yet not enough to keep anything like the current number of petrol stations in business. What happens then?

British gas produced from British fields in the North Sea supplies roughly 47.5% to 49% of the country's total demand. How come our gas isn’t already cheaper than Europe’s or as cheap as US gas? Why would a bit more British Gas make our gas cheaper? Can someone explain?

We didn’t start this war. We didn’t want it. And working families in a cost of living crisis shouldn’t have to pay the price for it. That’s why this government is focused on de-escalation and keeping energy bills down. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

@SeargentNeal @DamianLow3 That'll be great when we're under the cosh from Russian missiles. Welfare spending won't be much help then. Military spending reductions and appeasement didn't help Chamberlain.

Good performance by Starmer showing again the value of a serious leader in times of trouble. He's drawn a dividing line between himself and Badenoch / Farage who led the cheerleading for Trump's war of choice. Now Labour must follow through on defense spending. #PMQs

@DamianLow3 Are you living in another dimension? Even on James O'Brien's PMQs analysed (usually Labour biased) Starmer was seen as dodging all the questions even more than usual, and that's pretty difficult.
