With the @UTSASoftball camp being canceled due to crazy thunderstorms I was able to make the whole tournament this weekend. ~Hits 8 / Avg .615 / SLG .923 / SB 3 / first home run of the season ~Had myself a great weekend for the first tournament of the season. I was able to collect great hits. Feel I did a great job holding back on breaking pitches. Took care of my job on defense when needed. ~Our team was able to finish 2nd overall. We have several new additions this 16u season and we are only getting warmed up together. I just finished my coaching season with these Diamond Divas, to finish their season with a 15-4 win. It was definitely a journey and great experience to teach the future of softball. Over half of them will make the little league all star team. With our team having the best winning record we would have been the coaches for all stars unfortunately for them my softball journey is about to begin. Although the end wasn’t the result we wanted as a team I feel very accomplished with my performance on the year. My sophomore season stats pictured. I’m Really proud of ⭕️ZERO STRIKEOUTS for the whole season. There were a lot of changes throughout the season as I remained flexible with anywhere I played, and did my part at any location in the batting order. That is the thing with softball (or any sport) you must be ready and manage any adversity. To be successful you will bite off more than you can chew, then you figure out how to chew. You will fail but to fail it’s a First Attempt In Learning. This is the end of my 2026 softball HS sophomore year. Not the results we wanted in the bi-district finals series, but we battled through a lot of adversities. A few bi-district highlights below on offense and defense. After me throwing out runners there were zero attempts to steal, even from their SB leader. I got on base every at bat. I was trying my best effort for my 3 seniors on the team knowing this could be there last year. I know next season we will be really strong, we’ll have 6 returning starters and the new class has some ballers. Had myself another great night offensively. At 4 at bats had 2 doubles, a single, then another hit by pitch. Had a great back pick in the bottom of the first but didn’t capture the video. With this win it moved us 2nd in our district with 1 win behind the 1st place team. This Thursday we will face the #1 team in district hoping we can secure that win. When you get that perfect 3 pitch sequence you capitalize on it. First pitch the side eye, second pitch ready the arm and look, third pitch throw you out, then walk it out… Don’t take that big lead thinking catchers won’t back pick even with runners on second. So I decided to coach a little league team and got my dad in on it so we can do it together. Well, the first week of practices he has to work in Kentucky 🤦🏽‍♀️ so I was left to coach alone. Either way it was fun to get out there and begin to mold the hearts and minds of the future athletes of Poteet. With several great coaches in my history coaching young athletes was not difficult and made it very fun and rewarding. To all the past and the future coaches, Thank you. The Navarro tournament at Huber was fun. Hit a no doubter HR, recorded multiple hits, took advantage on the bases, playing outfield, and throwing runners out behind the plate. First High School 🥎 scrimmage was fun. In high school I will play anywhere needed, pitching was a need so I practiced 3 weeks and getting my first K allowing 2 runs facing 9 batters pitching 2 innings. Recording hits for our team as well as playing catcher and first.
