This is absolute horseshit. The SECOND there was a SECOND issue with the jury who were literally being harassed by the defense, there should have been recusal and the case handed off to another judge. I hope this case is an absolute stain on the Canadian criminal justice system. Just broken.
If you can’t see that the defense attorneys literally rigged it to get rid of the jury, idk what to tell you. They lose that case with a jury. Thats what this comes down to more than lack of evidence or credibility. The defense knew how to play the system.
I do not EVER want to see anyone question “why don’t victims report it?” because this is why. This is exactly why. She got up there for DAYS giving testimony and plain as day evidence and it STILL wasn’t enough to be believed.
EM is about to be failed and my heart is absolutely broken over it.
