In the end I switched to a simpler idea: use the same Delaunay triangulation to determine which villages to connect, but then find the true shortest path between them for the actual road. This approach looked the most satisfying to me. (4/4)

So, on yesterday's stream I've implemented a different algorithm for generating the road network: flood-filling a voronoi map (accounting for terrain movement cost) and connecting two villages where their voronoi regions meet. (1/n)

literally saw him there again yesterday, saw him notice new baby, get excited and then make eye contact with me. this time husband was in line to get us coffee and the guy came close to our table but i just stared down at my phone til he went away. wish this wasn't a thing

there is an older transwoman (60yo tall skinny man who wears mini skirts & lipstick) that frequents our favorite coffee shop. i have seen him come in multiple times and just talk to people's little kids and not buy coffee. we were there with our baby and for the first time in all the times we've seen him he approached us. i tensed up and turned away, hoping to avoid an interaction. my husband gave him one look and the man backed off. peak male performance. i never felt so protected

I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL. Don’t you *LIKE* understanding the magic of the machine? You do realize hand-programming (I hate that I even have to specify hand now) is fun…right?

There will be no more senior devs as we know them. We’re at the peak of software development right now, and we’re going downhill. More code is produced but it’s increasingly more sloppy because LLMs get trained on their own slop.
