1. Wrong - loads of people bought Rolls Royce Spectre's through their businesses for business use - as long as you pay the BIK tax you can use it for work no problem. 2. For 2026/27, HMRC’s company car Benefit-in-Kind rate for 0g/km CO₂ cars is 4%. The taxable benefit is therefore: £500,000 × 4% = £20,000 taxable benefit. HMRC’s current 2026/27 table shows 0g/km cars at 4%. That's between £4k and £9k a year in company car tax. That's very low for a £500k car.

If you buy the new Ferrari Luce as a company car you can deduct 100% of the purchase price from your taxable profits…. So if your profits exceed £250k, buying a Luce would save you £125k in corporation tax. This ludicrous tax loophole is why so many new EV’s are sold. According to gov figures 78% of all EV’s are bought through a busienss. If this tax loophole didn’t exist the number of new EV’s being sold in the UK would be staggeringly lower.

@ListerLawrence @jacobtechtavern And write it out of the books at 1 yr old.. leaving that vehicle to be disposed of for £1 to an “Employee”!!! Same deal with any commercial vehicle, and directors that don’t do this are missing a trick.. I’m not standing up for “tax avoidance” but why should you give it to

Unemployment is now 5% and only half of under-25s are in paid employment. Every Labour leadership contender should have a coherent answer to how we can reverse these trends and avoid creating a lost generation of young people. Today's @thetimes column👇 thetimes.com/comment/column…

It's very simple - reduce NI for under 25's so companies can hire them more easily and train them up. Also, stop giving Statutory Sick Pay on day one (as this is being abused by those not wanting to work) and maybe look at why so many under 25's don't want to work and are completely thick? Just for starters...

Jess Phillips Has Just Launched Her Most Savage Attack Yet On “Cockroach” Keir Starmer 😳 Asked by Robert Peston: “What is the probability that Starmer can actually survive?” Jess Phillips brutally described the Prime Minister as something like a “ cockroach in a nuclear war” as he desperately clings to power. And astonishingly, she says he actually “manifests” crises every week to galvanise his team and rally around him like some kind of crisis conjurer. Wow. I like the new found honesty. I’m actually starting to warm to her. 😂 A government in permanent survival mode… led by a cockroach PM who allegedly creates disasters to stay alive.

The snobby attitude towards Gemma Collins and how she found maths difficult is so awful! I love the fact Gemma is talking openly about how hard she found maths as a kid - it brings so much awareness and hopefully help for other kids. This is great to see @bphillipsonMP

The Unite the Kingdom march organisers are spreading hatred and division. They do not reflect the Britain I’m proud of. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right and one I will always protect. But if protest turns violent, we will act swiftly, with extra court capacity in place.

Angela Rayner completely exonorated in any wrong doing. HMRC tax probe has concluded that former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner did not seek to avoid paying the correct stamp duty on the purchase of her property in 2025. Could be looking at Britain's next Prime Minister.

OK, so I've had a lot of questions about Chinese Car Warranties - so I am going to do a review of each manufacturer over a few weeks to see how they stack up to their claims. MG is another company that claims a 7 year warranty and their website proudly states "All models - 7 year factory warranty (from 01.09.2019)". Whilst this is true for most parts, there are some limitations. The following parts are only covered for 3 years or 45,000 miles: • Wheel Bearings. • Ball Joints. • Track Rod Ends. • Dampers & Struts. • Rubber Components. • Infotainment system. Then there are some parts covered for 3 years or 60,000 miles. • The EV Charging Door is covered for 12 months for cars registered before 01/01/25 and 3 years or 60,000 miles for cars registered after this. • Paintwork warranty is 3 years or 60,000 miles. • Catalytic Convertors is 12 months for cars registered before 01/01/25 or 3 years or 60,000 miles on or after. • Drive Belts are also only covered for 3 years or 60,000 miles. (Quite a big one as this can cause your whole engine to be kaput). Clutch: • The Clutch Components are covered for 2 years or 30,000 miles. Hire or Reward Limits: • Petrol MG's used for Hire or Reward are covered for 12 months or 20,000 miles. • EV & Hybrid MG's used for Hire or Reward are (interestingly) covered for 3 year or 60,000 miles if they're registered before 22/03/2024 or 3 years or 80,000 miles if registered on or after this date. (You also have to inform MG that you are using your car for hire or reward or your warranty could be void). Recovery: • All MG's come with 1 years AA cover and then recovery is only given if you have your car serviced at MG. Battery: • The 12v Battery is covered for 12 months with a max claim of £150. • The EV battery is covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles upto 70% of its capacity. Tollerance: • In order to maintain your warranty you must service the car in line with the Manufacturers recommendations and parts within 28 days or 1000 miles of it becoming due. • Obviously there are quite a few serviceable items that have lower limits too but I haven't mentioned them as I would be here all day. My thoughts: In some ways the MG offering is similar to Jaecoo/Omoda/Chery in that they advertise a 7 year warranty, but there are limitations. However, MG don't advertise the 7 year warranty quite so heavily as the above mentioned (who mention it no fewer than 5 times on their warranty page). They also don't exclude bigger ticket items like Alternators, Fuel Pumps, Oil Pumps, Starter Motors, A/C Compressor or Window Regulators from their limited 3 year cover, so in that way they are better. However the Recovery is less, unless you have it serviced at MG and in general it's quite a complicated warranty document. I still think the advertising standards authority should look at both Jaecoo and MG, as here are two companies proudly saying 7 years warranty, but frankly there are a lot of parts not covered for 7 years that a consumer could fall foul of.

Today we welcome the MG ZS Pro 1.5T CVT, now in turbo form, which gives it a bit of bite to match the bark. The styling has clean lines and that “I cost more than I actually do” presence. But the real story sits under… #MGMotorSA #MGZSPro #KOWGarage

Who at Mercedes decided to ruin the aesthetic of their new AMG GT 63s by putting the charging point on the right hand side of the rear bumper. It’s messing with my OCD!

@ListerLawrence @graeme_cobb Same with Hyundai/kia etc.. 7 yr warranty worthless on most parts and car has to have full dealer history (even for a non serviceable electric window!!) Audio Units regularly fail at approx 4yrs old and not covered.. stick with Toyota/lexus!!

@graeme_cobb We haven’t covered any Jaecoo’s yet as they aren’t old enough. However I don’t think JLR go about advertising a warranty longer than most of the parts are covered for… hence my issue.

By your company’s own research, Land Rover’s are shockingly unreliable and the worst in the Warrantywise index. Does Land Rover actually make a car that isn’t in the bottom 10 for worst reliability? Why are you doing this @ListerLawrence? warrantywise.co.uk/warrantywise-u…
Lawrence Whittaker@ListerLawrence

Yesterday I posted about the Temu Range Rover, and a lot of you replied about issues you’ve been having with Jaecoo too. So I took the liberty of reading the warranty document of Britain’s best selling car, as I'd heard they had a 7 year warranty. Prudent, since we will be covering them one day, well that day is sooner than I thought! Whilst they do advertise a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty and some parts are covered under this, many parts are only warranted for 3 years or just 40,000 miles! These include: • A/C Compressor. • Alternator. • Ball Joint(s). • Brake Caliper. • Catalytic Converter. • Dashboard Upholstery and Trims (wear & tear). • Infotainment Unit. • Exhaust System. • Fuel Injector(s). • Fuel Pump. • Oil Pump. • Seat Upholstery (wear & tear). • Shock Absorber(s). • Starter Motor. • Steering Wheel Upholstery (wear & tear). • Timing Belt. • Track Rod End. • Water Pump. • Wheel Bearing. • Window Regulator. Worse still, the remote control key is only covered for 1 year or 20,000 miles, and if you are using the car as an Uber, Taxi, Courier or Driving School the main warranty limits are reduced further. It's been a long time since i've seen any manufacturer offer warranty cover only for the first 40,000 miles, in fact I can't remember any. I know these cars are cheap, but perhaps that is for a reason...?
