Today marks my 11th full year of sobriety... Not a sip, puff, snort...zero. The night of March 29th, 2014, I nearly died from drugs and alcohol. For 20 years I was an addict. I couldn't stop even after countless attempts. That night, I went too far and was laying in my bed dying. At that moment, I looked up at my ceiling and saw Jesus. This is a very true story. I closed my eyes and said a prayer that IF I woke up the next day that I would never take another sip of alcohol or take another drug. I woke up that next morning in disbelief and I praised God that I was still alive. I immediately flushed any drugs I still had in the house down the toilet, and to this day I haven't touched anything. I was able to quit cold turkey without rehab, AA, etc. All I can say is that it's a miracle from God because I was addicted, and since then, I haven't had a single urge. The year that this happened was the first year I hit 100 deals as a real estate agent, and I closed over 100 deals for 8 years in a row. From that day forward, I started my journey of having a family and serving people other than myself. Since then, I have also become a public figure writing three books and traveling to speak to other real estate agents on some of the biggest stages in the world. Today, I have the most incredible wife and five-year-old daughter that anyone could dream of. None of this could have happened without God. I praise God everyday for my life and the plan that he set for me.
