@AnnNyberg Hi Ann, do you know if this is Jane Anne Jayroe? It was taken in Christchurch in New Zealand in 69 or 70. The woman is speaking to the American crew at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. I’m a journalist researching the pic. Please let me know.

@leedanielkenny last but not least, when they call students they make a point of saying "their employer is receiving a $500 per month government subsidy", implying that students should get the employer to pay that on to Te Pukenga. Great loophole to cabinet paper approval..

@leedanielkenny Heads up: Te Pukenga are sending Direct Debit forms to every trade apprentice demanding $500 per month in fees, starting Jan 2023! Conveniently, even if 50% of students agree, it means $0.5 billion in funding...

@jonogaluszka Hi mate, pleased for you, sad for Stuff. Really good to have worked with you on the union negotiations. You were a vital member of the team, such a great eye for detail and always ready to speak up. If it’s not too late we’d love you to move to the Chch newsroom.

How does this go? Ah, yes. 🧵 In personal news, I’m leaving Stuff/Manawatū Standard in the new year to work as a senior communications advisor for Horizons Regional Council.

Do you remember the story from 2021 that suggested Polynesians had reached Antarctica in the seventh century? Credible Māori historians have spent months trying to correct it. My story here. stuff.co.nz/national/30076…

@KlynchStuff @NZStuff Watch The Day After or the excellent British movie Threads. Both are sanitized, but give a fair idea. There are no winners

The police rapidly figured out the whole plan and arrested all criminals, successfully preventing the bomb from exploding. And Tyler’s sent to a “lunatic asylum” theguardian.com/film/2022/jan/…

@HeritageExp Thanks again for your help in researching the feature. Rodney Russ provided such good insight into the search and the conditions that sad day.

@tonywalljourno Cheers Tony, that means a lot coming from you. It was a fascinating incident to research. Took about six months to track everyone down but got some great insight.
