He is off by an order of magnitude. Around 20 milliseconds is where latency is difficult to perceive but it’s still noticeable. Going from 20 to 10 milliseconds now we’re talking. This was when I was recording music and anything sub 20 milliseconds was usually fine. 15-10 milliseconds is my preference. Below 10 milliseconds I cannot notice it. That’s for audio. However, switching from 144Hz to 60Hz refresh rates is very noticeable feel. I’ve never experienced gaming with anything faster than 144Hz but I can feel the difference between them. And the numbers are in the ballpark between 16-7 milliseconds.

@monty10x @prodialabs @tenstorrent Okay so what am I looking at? A bunch of networked Blackhole or what? What configuration was used to achieve this result or is it software tailored to the stack or both?

Cut tool. It does more or less what you'd expect from a cut tool. Snap to points and edges, fractional placement, cut across faces, slice. No support for edge loops yet.

I tried the latest Grok Imagine functions to generate a video of myself teaching Java. On its own, Grok built an avatar that looks like me !!! That's pretty good. Of course, that's not my voice, but fine. The image in the video is pretty good. It makes sense. But I don't know what I am saying towards the end. It sounds a bit like gibberish. I could not convince Grok to correct it.

Most Europeans actually like the new bottle caps. It's convenient that you don't need to hold the cap in your other hand. And you can't lose it. There were some first-gen bottles with badly designed caps, but most manufacturers have fixed their initial design flaws now.
Rodney@_ChanFace

Why were Europeans so whiney about the attached bottle caps?? Regardless of environmental reasons, it does not interfere with drinking at all and it’s actually super convenient to not need to hold on the cap! 10/10 Canada should adopt!

@neogoose_btw trying out FFF, I think it's amazing what you've created here. Quick question, what does ai_mode do? I'm using from the C API... documentation says "enable AI-agent optimizations" but what does that mean?

Science girl@sciencegirl

Research in Finland found that simply changing what children play on can quickly influence their immune system. Scientists redesigned parts of nursery playgrounds by swapping gravel and asphalt for natural forest materials, soil, moss, leaf litter, and native plants, so kids would be exposed to the microbes found in nature. After just 28 days, clear biological differences emerged. Children who played in these “rewilded” spaces developed a richer mix of microbes on their skin and in their gut. They also showed higher levels of regulatory T-cells, which help the body manage inflammation and reduce the risk of immune overreactions like allergies. These changes were not observed in children who stayed on conventional playground surfaces. The findings support the biodiversity hypothesis, the idea that limited contact with natural environments, especially in urban life, may be linked to rising allergies and autoimmune conditions. What stands out is how simple the intervention was. This wasn’t extreme outdoor exposure-just everyday play in a more natural setting. Even small, regular contact with soil and vegetation appears to shape the body’s internal ecosystem and how the immune system develops.

@briancheong This was a known issue, at least two major implementations rejected it as "by design" so it's overblown to say the least.

@The_Cyber_News MCP as a spec should not create RCE by itself; that is almost always an implementation that shells out with unsafe defaults. Can you link the exact PoC and affected server code?

⚠️ Critical Anthropic’s MCP Vulnerability Enables Remote Code Execution Attacks Source: cybersecuritynews.com/anthropics-mcp… A critical flaw in Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) exposes over 150 million downloads to potential compromise. The vulnerability could enable full system takeover across up to 200,000 servers. Unlike a traditional coding bug, this vulnerability is architectural, meaning any developer building on Anthropic's MCP foundation unknowingly inherits the exposure from the ground up. The flaw enables Arbitrary Command Execution (RCE) on any system running a vulnerable MCP implementation. Successful exploitation grants attackers direct access to sensitive user data, internal databases, API keys, and chat histories, effectively handing over complete control of the affected environment. #cybersecuritynews

I never liked databases as an idea. You literally send a string query over TCP to postgres and it returns you data over tcp as strings. There is so much potential to make this whole thing better …. but everyone seems to be just fine with it.

Tesla FSD EU-wide approval The Swedish 🇸🇪 Transport Administration restated that the EU-wide approval of FSD will ONLY apply to NEW vehicles produced AFTER the approval. They also say that they have not received any application from Tesla or the RDW as of yet for national approval in Sweden. No timeline to when the EU committee will make a decision about the EU-wide approval has been given to the official that responded to me. To note is that he is one of the committee members that will be involved in the decision.
