Haverhill Police Encounter Ends in Death of 43-Year-Old Man On July 11, 2025, Francis Gigliotti, a 43-year-old Haverhill, Massachusetts resident, died following a struggle with police outside Bradford Seafood Restaurant on Winter Street. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office and Haverhill Police Department reported that officers responded around 6:22 p.m. to calls about a man acting erratically near 115 White St. Witnesses described Gigliotti falling while leaving a building, running into traffic, and hitting his head on a car. Surveillance footage showed him weaving through traffic, nearly struck by vehicles. Police found Gigliotti behaving belligerently and called for an ambulance to assess his well-being. When he attempted to enter the restaurant, officers tried to restrain him for public safety. During the struggle, involving at least six officers, Gigliotti became unresponsive.
