Currently in the process of moving into a very, very, very old Ozarkian farm house. The kids have nicknamed her "The Old Lady". She is full of mysteries and has had so many curious little additions through the years (she's not large, more of a cottage). We learn something new and interesting about her every hour. 😅 (The secret cellar under a rug was certainly nice and horrifying haha 🫠) It was wonderful to bring in my grandmother's old dining room table. We had every Thanksgiving and Christmas at this table growing up, and now my kids have grown up around it. It's our table for all meals + school! Found a nice sunny place in The Old Lady to put it. 😊

For those trying to juggle working out and young kids, know that I have been in and out of the gym for the past 5 yrs. Granted I lifted for 5 yrs before getting pregnant, I am still able to squat my bodyweight even though I’ve taken months off at a time. Is it a lot? No. I want to grow but I lack consistency atm Point is, something is better than nothing. You will get back in the gym full time one day but for now do what you can.

@of_red_lions Aww yeah makes me think of some lovelies I know. It has to be sustainable. Like (if it were offered through an app) a cap on number of nights you can cook. But so fun that there are people out there doing it!! Sign me up 🫶

Hear me out. Uber Eats, but instead of restaurants, it’s your neighborhood abuelas, nonnas , and meemaws who are longing to cook their family recipes for someone. And they hold your baby while you eat.

"Practice the fundamentals" is an easy (and accurate) critique for a lot of artists because, quite frankly, a lot of artists just kinda need to practice everything I especially use it when the work they're showing me makes it pretty obvious that they're not doing enough studies

I don’t know it was the varnish fumes or the last of the creativity fumes leaving my brain after 6 months of exhibition preparation.. but I went and added a subtle pattern to this 100cm x 160cm linen piece .. I kinda like it .. but I’ll look at it again in the morning 😵‍💫🫣🤔

@lemongingerade @BooksTiffany my 4yo is so hilarious, some days it feels like I’m having a conversation with a fully sentient human haha I also look forward to that stage! each year just keeps getting better!

a couple of weeks ago I was very strongly desiring a third baby but then for the past 2 weeks one of my kids has woken me up every single night at like 3 a.m. (it’s been 2+ years of everyone sleeping through the night) and guys I just don’t know if I could go through the newborn stage again 🥴

We had a possum repeatedly attack our flock once. My husband staked it out, staying up 2 nights in a row in a plastic lawn chair. The first night was a fail because hubs triggered the motion sensor light when he raised his arm to shoot. Possum took off. So next night he was prepared - bought a .22, filled it with snakeshot, and had a possum-blind made from cardboard. Got ‘em. Good luck 🫡

a land assault is under way. Heard the attack and screeching rooster, charged into the back marsh, barefoot at all. Saw the predator bound away deeper into the thicket. Reckon a bobcat or large coyote, maybe the ghost of Maximus haunting us. Recovered the girl, but terminal. Black rooster and now a sweet hen gone. You will be avenged.
