@lemonslip
Cannula bandit. Resident Doctor. Trade Unionist East Mids RDC @theBMA // dyslexic Current Interests: Baby, Wife, Obstetric Anaesthesia. Opinions are of my own.

The BMA think their demands are more important than patients. Unsurprisingly, patients don't agree. Patients deserve better. The BMA must call off these strikes.

In just 2 months, across 2 hospitals in our region: → 30+ consultants stepped down to cover ED resident gaps → 28 other individual reports on unfilled shifts reported → Up to 3 gaps left open per shift

“Doctors’ strikes have cost NHS £3 billion in 3 years” The decision by @wesstreeting & @DHSCgovuk NOT to settle this dispute is a POLITICAL ONE🔥 Say that out loud! @LaylaMoran @CommonsHealth @HelenMorganMP @ZackPolanski @eleanorhayward @thetimes 1/ thetimes.com/article/fe3c5a…

"We could have built a few hospitals with that..." Strikes by resident doctors have cost £3 billion over the last few years. Wes Streeting tells @NickFerrariLBC what the money could have been spent on if the strikes had been prevented.

"NOBODY wants strikes in our NHS. Every time junior doctors walk out, it's patients who feel the impact — and other NHS staff left picking up the pieces." @WesStreeting on how these strikes will mean delayed operations and families left waiting in pain. @NHSuk Is that if the Dr's can be bothered to turn up and not play strike!

I hope to never become as out of touch and miserable. telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness…

Thanks to this Government resident doctors have already received a 28.9% average pay rise. The deal on offer goes further on pay, and would create more training places - including 1,000 now. The BMA can’t even offer an alternative proposal. I’d urge everyone to read this👇🏻

"Is there anybody else you know in your life who has had 28.9% over the last three years?" @bbcnickrobinson presses Dr Jack Fletcher, from the BMA, on previous pay increases and the planned industrial action by resident doctors over a pay dispute with the government.

Immediately after the Easter weekend, junior doctors are planning a six-day strike. Unless they call it off, Starmer has said today, they’ll be punished. They have been offered a deal. On the table is an above-inflation pay rise, along with government funding for postgraduate exams that doctors have historically paid for themselves, and an offer of 4,500 additional specialty training places. ‘There are still 48 hours left to choose a better path,’ said Starmer. After that, the offer disappears. ✍️ Druin Burch Article | spectator.com/article/the-ab…
