@lenac15 @hbmoment4 @WeatherManSeek @BrianAllenWX No you dumb bitch that link did absolutely nothing lmao now just stfu
English

I’d rather take my chances in a ditch then in a car

Lena@lenac15
@BrianAllenWX And if you don’t have enough time, still not safest place, but floorboard of your car is what has been suggested in the past.
English

@PunkyMantilla @BrianAllenWX Thank you, I also hope I’m never in a predicament where I wasn’t listening to all weather warnings and didn’t make sure I was placed somewhere safer than a mobile home park during a severe weather day.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX If they’re telling me to get on the floorboard, absolutely I’m not going to listen to them. I hope you never do that, or have to do that, for your own sake!
English

The context was “if you are in a mobile home” it would be unsurvivable to stay in it. So if you don’t have a storm shelter and you still have time drive away..

Hey @MaxVelocityWX, it's a horrible idea to tell people to drive south away from a violent tornado, especially one that is rainwrapped and long tracked. This lesson should have been learned 13 years ago.
English

@WXChaserCody @BrianAllenWX Did you read what I said? I NEVER said first option is to get in the car. You misunderstood the entire argument and that’s not my problem.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX lol fid you even read it? First sentence says it’s not safe. Of course if you can’t get to low lying areas of shelter then it’s a better option than being outside but no where does it recommend it.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX I’m sure. You can believe what you want from the government, but it won’t matter it in a tornado.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX This has a myth that’s been disproven. Please delete so you don’t spread it. If you’re on the floorboard and a tornado picks you up, your skull is going to bounce around under that seat like a pinball.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX A vehicle has never been suggested as a safe place to shelter, ever.
English

@noblenoble99 @hbmoment4 @WeatherManSeek @BrianAllenWX Ah shit, I just found a suggestion by weather.gov/safety/tornado… ima ask you to read the “in a vehicle” section and then kindly go fuck yourself for being a dicj.
English

@lenac15 @hbmoment4 @WeatherManSeek @BrianAllenWX You must be on week one of meteorology school lmao bc why would you think that
English

@hbmoment4 @WeatherManSeek @BrianAllenWX Honestly, the floorboard suggestion was because of something I watched as a teenager. If I’m wrong I’m wrong. It’s fine. 🤣
English

@WeatherManSeek @lenac15 @BrianAllenWX well the floorboard is still generally intact in pretty much all of the pics even brian posted
English

@SWStormMedia @BrianAllenWX I don’t disagree with you. I’m literally just stating something I saw as a teenager in a documentary given by meteorologists. I just wish I could find it.
English

@lenac15 @BrianAllenWX It has NOTHING to do with your “approach” it has to do with if you want to survive
English

@SnoopyWx @CaprisunWx Suggested by meteorologists in the past. Literally as a teenager watched it on my tv. I definitely don’t think getting in a car is a good idea though.
English

@SnoopyWx @CaprisunWx It’s funny cause on another post right now I’m talking about how it’s been suggested in the past to get in a car as a last ditch effort in a mobile home park when the tornado is already approaching…and I’m getting skinned for that. It’s just something I’d seen suggested. 🤷🏻♀️
English

Getting rightfully flamed for this, initially misinterpreted his statement. Keeping this up for sake of discussion anyway, and obviously retracting my initial statement.

Hey @MaxVelocityWX, it's a horrible idea to tell people to drive south away from a violent tornado, especially one that is rainwrapped and long tracked. This lesson should have been learned 13 years ago.
English

@SWStormMedia @BrianAllenWX I just want to remind everyone we are talking about a tornado that’s already where you are while you’re in a mobile home park. Not “get in a car to shelter from a tornado as your first option and not a shelter.”
English

@SWStormMedia @BrianAllenWX I watched a documentary awhile back where there was this question and this is what meteorologists on this documentary suggested. Granted this was probably over 10 years ago. Recall also, because this retweet came from a post about max velocity suggesting to drive away from
English

@SnoopyWx @CaprisunWx I’m just bringing attention to the fact that this suggestion has caught flack in the past. The main issue with suggesting to drive away is the traffic it causes. Then you have everyone on a highway in a car during a dangerous situation.
English

@lenac15 @CaprisunWx It's completely different, in my opinion. The evacuation call from Max was the right move. My only concern was the specific route to take. Anything could have happened on HWY 27 during that time. Road could be blocked from an accident or anything like that.
English

@WXChaserCody @BrianAllenWX Wish I could prove what I’m saying, but I can’t find it. So I guess I’ll just lose this debate. It’ll recall it was a construction crew staying in a mobile home park and the tornado was already approaching and the guy ran out and got in his floorboard.
English

@SnoopyWx Eh that's the context I missed. "Go south" without context historically gets people killed. Naming specific people to go on a specific route is fine, especially if that route has not yet been touched by storms
English

@SWStormMedia @BrianAllenWX A tornado, this has also been suggested by meteorologists and they also caught flack for it. The bad thing about driving away is it causes massive amounts of traffic of everyone taking that advice making it more dangerous. Just seems everyone has a different approach.
