@JeremyTate41 imagine what Dostoevsky could have written if he had @ScrivenerApp 😅
English

@david_perell This is more about a note management system but I’m more curious about the “taking” in note-taking.

@100YearsAgoLive @procrastixote I see nothing wrong with immediately following a reproduced sensational post with your reply clarifying whether false or not.
It would not subtract from the experience.
(And more broadly, it would help combat disinformation.)
English

I knew this to be false when I posted it, but it was reported in the news at the time.
Journalism in 1924 was notoriously poor at fact-checking and sensational. In an effort to be as immersive as possible to the era, I post these stories without notes of correction unless it is important to do so.

@Duzie_ @DorianDevelops The paid version is just as down right now
English

@DorianDevelops I guess they simply want users to pay-up. Never doing that …
English

@nathanbenaich I went for a job there. I couldn't even get a foot in the door.
English

@milanicreative I just bookmarked your tweet.
Just sayin’

A mistake a lot of people make...
Falling into the "the collector's fallacy" trap--
Believing that by collecting information, we somehow absorb it.
It feels productive to:
• highlight more books
• bookmark more articles
• listen to more podcasts
Reminds me of this quote from Derek Sivers:
“If more information was the answer, then we'd all be billionaires with perfect abs.”
Real progress only happens through behavior change and action.

@dickiebush Not a prompt but a thing to add to every prompt. “How could I improve this prompt to make it clearer?”

@metruzanca @MUSINKS @jb_61820 @theHoracle @wtgowers 💯Most language (not just engineering) must be precise enough for the desired outcome. Even (especially, actually) relationship language .
English

@JamesTippins straight out of slapstick comedy but glad you made it 😎

Trigger warning: Idiot Injury Story
In 2008 I slipped on the second stage of our carpeted staircase, hit my head on the handrail trying to stop myself, burned the skin off that other arm, and tumbled upside down on the wood floor with my neck and back against the sofa.
I couldn't walk for three weeks without pain.
It was a horrible time.
Now, I wish I had a video of said event. It would have made me an instant viral celebrity.
English

@MUSINKS @jb_61820 @theHoracle @wtgowers way to teach kids that sloppy language is all they need to aim for
English

@jb_61820 @theHoracle @wtgowers man a circle has 360 degrees its his daughters homework it aint that deep
English

@NazaninBoniadi Yes this would work. But probably only if /only/ women were running the world (and even better if they have children of military age.)

Fascism and Communism both view the world as a place of conflict, but only Liberalism sees it as a location for co-operation.

@drewrcarr The mind that can grow less aversive to pain (whether purposeful pain or not) will respond to purposeful pain much better.
Practice leads to skill.
