@arielhelwani Reminds me of local music promoters making bands sell tix or they can’t perform. Creates a pay to play culture which rewards salesmen & not those who can perform/fight. Fighting/musicianship & sales/marketing are 2 different skill sets, although they should converge on the way up

How/why every promotion doesn’t copy this model is beyond me

Considering starting a podcast (I know, I know, can you even be a VC without one?) about VC/angel anti-portfolio stories. Have a prominent investor on to talk about their biggest miss, then talk about what’s happened since and lessons learned, and close out by inviting that founder to join to talk about their reflections and views. Would it be interesting to you? I have a few $1B+ misses in mine. I know others do too.
