A new report claims PlayStation could be using social media bots to defend its decision to stop making physical game discs.
According to Moore’s Law Is Dead, AI was used to analyze accounts posting in support of PlayStation’s digital-only future.
The report says many of those accounts looked suspicious, with recent creation dates, AI-generated profile pictures, and very similar posting patterns.

The resistance against Sony's attack on physical media continues under every Sony/PlayStation post. Love to see it! However, this also hits game announcements. Don't forget to show these hard-working devs some love on other consoles. It's not their fault that Sony hates games.

@oliver_drk How is it unfortunate? Their games are getting more attention than they would have. People defend them. Their games get boosted sales now. The algorithm keeps the physical conversation alive because of people who can't see the bigger picture Sony set in motion. Everyone wins.

@Dexerto Nobody knew or cared what Teeto was before the pro-physical comments under their dev's posts. The message gets across to Sony and now Teeto gets more eyeballs. Everyone wins. Sony has nobody to blame but themselves.
