Sometimes I’m too subtle. If you build an interoperability protocol and don’t put a DeFi hub in the middle then all you are is infrastructure for moving money around. It’s really hard to capture value from this beyond fees - people don’t want to pay high fees and competition makes it a race to the bottom. Flare has put a DeFi hub in the middle to capture much more of the value of interoperability between XRP, BTC, DOGE and other ecosystems. This is why over last year we have focussed hard on making sure that great DeFi protocols are built on Flare.

Actually the point that needs to be made is that while you may be staking your FLR to the FAssets V2 insurance protocol others will need the FLR token to make transactions in Flares DeFi ecosystem and as the FAsset amounts grow, that need for FLR for DeFi transactions also increases. This virtuous circle is unique to Flare as it is a full L1 with interoperability as a feature vs a stand alone interoperability protocol that only has one side of this equation.

URGENT UPDATE FOR CELSIUS CHAPTER 11 CREDITORS #Celsius & the @CelsiusUcc have decided to transition to a #Celsius customer owned Mining #NewCo in place of the @FahrenheitHldg #NewCo on account of the pushback from the #SEC. They are still in discussions with various parties regarding the T&C of the future management of the Mining NewCo & will provide updates as they become available. The new plan should allow for more liquid crypto to be returned & they do not believe the changes will require another plan vote. They expect distributions to commence in January.
