You want to ban abortion? Cool Then pregnancy should come with mandatory: - Paid leave - Free childcare - Healthcare - Education You don't get forced birth without forced support

@ChrisJSaud @Curi_Christian Tacitus and Josephus documented that Christians believed in a resurrection, not that it happened. That's the belief being recorded, not the event being verified. And manuscript count measures preservation, not truth. We have plenty of Quran manuscripts too.

Tacitus, Josephus, Pliny the Younger; none of them were Christians. All three documented Jesus and early Christianity. We have more manuscript evidence for the New Testament than for Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars or the works of Plato combined. Historians don’t require the author to be neutral, they evaluate the evidence. By that standard, the resurrection has more documentation than most events in ancient history.

Christians don't need to have all the answers to believe in Jesus.

@ConservativeGG3 @hell_line0 I'm sorry for what you went through. But I wasn't talking about abortion at all. I meant it's easy to say "I'd go after the rapist" on Twitter. In reality, the justice system fails most SA survivors. That fight is exhausting, traumatic, and often fruitless.

If abortion makes you uncomfortable, imagine forced pregnancy at 13. Imagine your daughter crying through labor. Now tell me which is worse.

@ChrisJSaud @Curi_Christian "Historically documented" by whom? The resurrection appears in Christian texts written decades after the fact, by believers. That's not documentation, but a testimony. Every religion has eyewitness testimony. That's not what makes something historically verified.

@Black_D3ku @pumpholiness @oliverburdick You're unsure about mixed fabrics but certain about homosexuality? They're in the same Holiness Code, same chapter, using the same Hebrew word (to'evah). That distinction isn't in the Bible, but in your head.

@lexcobbler @pumpholiness @oliverburdick For the LAST time: the food laws were repealed by God in the New Testament. The mixed fabrics thing, I’m not sure about. But homosexuality, and many other moral laws, were NOT repealed…

“WHERE DOES THE BIBLE SAY BEING GAY IS SIN?!” Romans 1:27 — “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

@sartime7 @oliverburdick The passage condemns the idol worship too: that's literally Romans 1:18-23. Try reading the whole chapter.

@pumpholiness @oliverburdick The OT also calls eating shellfish and wearing mixed fabrics an abomination (Lev 11:10, 19:19). Christians ignore those. You don't get to selectively enforce OT law; either it all applies or it doesn't. Pick one.

@lexcobbler @oliverburdick you are only deceiving yourself to look for nuance where there is none. from the old testament God makes it clear that homosexuality is not only sinful to Him, but is an abomination. something that should never be done in any context or nuance.

@lexcobbler @Maximumatheist I have already made my point. Those who died have told what happens after death and people just don't believe. 😎 All the other topic is just noise.

@jimbeamdm @MibshaD Ahem. What about rapes? Or the fact that a lot of (mostly Christians) are having a lot of kids and then sign up for welfare checks, so people who actually want to have kids responsibly without any support, can't, because they have to pay higher taxes to support these families.

@MibshaD Why does sex (which is a choice) which can lead to outcomes of pregnancy but then paid out like having children now must be paid with entitlements? 🤦‍♂️. Why not stop having recless sex! And get married then have sex 🤷‍♂️. All problems would be solved and families will come back
