Discovered a new tool recently that I've been enjoying. @lexdotpage. The interface is simple, all I can do is write. No menus, or complicated options. I was going to try it out quick and I keep coming back to it. It's also got all the AI features I need for quick feedback.

Two @lexdotpage features I'd love to see in @cursor_ai: 1. Context window usage: How much of the model's context window have I used up already? 2. Voice mode: Let me talk to my codebase.

First round of @lexdotpage editing: Did a fantastic job of suggesting restructure. I won't take its rewrite too seriously, but that's not what I intend to use it for, anyway. A little confused with the prompt-builder tho. I made a prompt but it doesn't... do anything? Like, it waits for me to add more context even though I added context in the prompt? What am I doing wrong, Lex?

working through some writing as I start for the day with @lexdotpage (which ive been trialing this week), I typically start high level checkin and then randomly pick a section to dive in this is still first draft mode so quantity + speed > quality is my aim

I need Cursor but for writing. Is there any tool that lets me chat with my document, make edits inline, without me having to keep manually copy-and-pasting? This close to just start writing everything in a Markdown file.

btw i wrote this in @lexdotpage and it is absolutely excellent -- first writing tool I've used where AI is genuinely a huge unlock vs getting in the way there's also a new beta feature which is a bit like @LiquidTextCorp but for writing. i'd been collecting notes & references for this for ~2 years and it finally made structuring them possible

new essay: Sovereign Albion aka: - why we need to rebuild a spiritual foundation for durable collective progress - how the current aesthetics of progress are falling short (sorry anglofuturists) - what a mini pilgrimage taught me about Britain: who we are and who we need to be to navigate a new economic, geopolitical & AI order worldingprogress.substack.com/p/sovereign-al…

@nateliason Not sure if @lexdotpage has *everything* you might want, but I think it's pretty close. Made a quick vid to just show what it does. Curious to know what would be missing from this.

Here's the AI writing app I want. The problem with most AI writing apps is they try to take over the writing process. But AI can't fully replace writing because it's not a great writer, and real writers still want to do the WRITING part. What I really want is a better AI editing tool. I envision something similar to Cursor, where you could request specific changes like expanding dialogue or enhancing setting descriptions based on existing content. The AI would suggest changes to the document, similar to how Cursor uses Git, just with a different overlay. Seems like we have all the tools, but I haven't seen anyone build this yet. Might have to hack on it after HUSK submission next week.
