An unelected shadow government is conducting a hostile takeover of the federal government. DOGE is not a real government agency. DOGE has no authority to make spending decisions. DOGE has no authority to shut programs down or to ignore federal law. DOGE’s conduct cannot be allowed to stand. Congress must take action to restore the rule of law.

From our earliest days, Black history has always been American history – and Black folks have profoundly shaped our American culture through music, art, literature, sports, and beyond. One month a year is not sufficient to celebrate the power of the movements and the people who have fought for the rights we enjoy today. That’s something that we have to do each and every day, as we strive to live up to their example and make sure our children and grandchildren remember their stories.

The thing that gets me is that Tennessee ranks toward the bottom nationally in public education, but instead of taking cues from top-performing states—by, say, properly funding our ed systems—our lawmakers decided to mimic other underperforming states by passing a voucher bill!

Watching the TN House supermajority shoot down every amendment that is being proposed on the voucher bill, including BACKGROUND CHECKS for adults that would work at voucher schools, is stunning. Further evidence that TN does not value the safety of its children.
