@simonbrown Do you have a recipe to scale c4model at an enterprise level? Today we use c4model at software system level (each software system has its own c4model) and we are wondering how we could have a consistent landscape at an enterprise level 🤔🧐 🙏🏻 in advance.

Really great to hear somebody making use of Structurizr across their company ... a company wide workspace for teams to extend, relationships generated from Backstage, diagrams embedded in docs, etc -> reddit.com/r/ExperiencedD… 👏

@simonbrown What I always had difficulty to understand in this kind of example is : what is c1 in "view of c1" ? Is it the variable name (c1 =) or the component name (component "c1") ? I hope this will help documentation authors to put things in perspective...

@dirkmahler @ecology_chris @simonbrown I agree 💯, how do you do to know which ADR to reevaluate when you have dozens of ADRs and the context changes ? Or imagine you're new comer in a team that has dozens of ADRs, how do you know which ADRs to reevaluate if context changes?

Does your team use Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)?

@therealdecross @schrepfler I completely agree 💯 !!! Or in some case, you could have 2 arrows (one for the request and another one for the response). It doesn't make any sense ! The label on the arrow should explicit this detail.

I have a strong conviction on this point but I need your opinion. What is the direction of an arrow in a #C4Model ? Does this direction have any special meaning for you? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

@schrepfler @therealdecross IMHO the problem is not that arrows are inaccurate or bidirectional. The problem is the direction of arrows. Some teams accord to say the direction is the data flow and others say it's the dependency direction. But at an enterprise level, how to make them to coexist? No way.

@therealdecross @lhauspie C4 has a unidirectional relationship connection but you can do as many relationships you like and give them different descriptions so I don't see it as something that C4 can't express?

Thanks @simonbrown for the repost. I've found very few X posts from you on this subject. What do you think about the arrows direction when modeling architecture? Also, did you ever choose different directions to suit a particular context?
