Hard Work and Dedication: Giving Inmates a Second Chance
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department proudly recognizes the graduation of Class 64 from our Inmate Fire Training Program. Over the course of an intensive 80-hour training, participants developed critical firefighting skills, teamwork, and a commitment to public service.
Graduates are now prepared to serve alongside firefighters at Los Angeles County Fire Camps, assisting in emergency response efforts across the state. Additionally, upon their release, formerly incarcerated fire trained inmates can receive more training and apply for entry-level firefighting jobs with local, state and federal firefighting programs such as CAL FIRE.
This program continues to provide meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation while strengthening public safety.

‼️Safety Tips for the public to protect against residential burglaries:
Install Security Systems: Use alarm systems, security cameras, and motion detectors.
Reinforce Entry Points: Secure doors and windows with robust locks, deadbolts, and security bars.
Lighting: Ensure good exterior lighting, especially near entry points. Motion-activated lights can deter burglars.
Fencing and Gates: Install secure fencing and gates to limit access.
Landscaping: Trim bushes and trees to eliminate hiding spots near windows and doors.
Secure Valuables: Use safes for valuables and keep them out of sight from windows.
Technological Solutions: Utilize smart home security devices like video doorbells and smart locks. Subscribe to professional monitoring services for rapid response to alarms.
Preventive measures: Hold mail and have neighbors check on home while on vacation, keep your property visible to neighbors and passersby by removing obstructions, use signs indicating security measures such as alarm systems or neighborhood watch.

Watch your speed
Speed limits are established based on roadway design, traffic patterns, and overall safety conditions. When drivers exceed those limits, they reduce their ability to react to the unexpected and significantly increase the severity of a crash.
A few extra miles per hour can be the difference between stopping in time or causing a life-changing collision. Speeding not only puts the driver at risk, but also passengers, pedestrians, cyclists, and everyone sharing the road.
Slow down. Arrive safely.

Rodd is back! 🙌 And this time, he's rolling on his Class 2 e-bike. Rodd is a student at Agoura High School and we're so grateful to partner with him to help spread e-bike education and safe riding tips throughout our community — and a huge welcome to our special guest, Sergeant Arens from Lost Hills Station! 🚔
Make sure you know what class e-bike you have and the rules that come with it. For a Class 2 like the one Rodd has here: helmets are required if you're under 18 but recommended for everyone, top speed is 20 mph max, and it comes equipped with pedal assist or throttle assist.
Remember, the City does not allow e-bikes on sidewalks, City parks, City-owned trails, or equestrian areas.
Stay Street Smart, Agoura Hills! Share this with the parents and students in your life. More education on the City's ordinance coming soon. 📲

Administrative Professional Appreciation Week… aka the reason everything gets done.
They are the ones moving mountains behind the scenes, fixing mistakes, answering the phones, tracking everything, and somehow keeping it all together without losing it on us (most days 😅).
Let’s be real… without them, emails wouldn’t get answered, schedules would fall apart, and half of us wouldn’t even know where to be.
We might wear the badge, but they run the show. 👏

Proper lane changes
Taking a few extra seconds to follow these simple steps can help prevent lane change traffic collisions. Always stay aware of the vehicles around you, including motorcycles and drivers who may be traveling in your blind spot.
Clear communication and awareness prevent collisions. Small actions make a big difference when it comes to keeping everyone on the road safe.

✔ Check your mirrors
✔ Signal your intention
✔ Check your blind spot

Seatbelt safety 🚘 ⚠️
Seatbelts are the single most effective safety feature in your vehicle. Without one, even a minor collision can have devastating consequences.
It only takes a second to buckle up, but that second could save your life or the life of someone you love.
Day or night. Short trip or long drive. Click it every time.
Remember: It’s not just about safety, it’s the law. Buckling up isn’t optional. It’s required.
