@tomgara My parents started hosting just last year and deliberately keep prices low, without minimum stays, & the company is constantly trying to get them to charge more. But they like getting young folks & people on adventures. And apparently that’s weird now.

Also a strong dose of "nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded" - everywhere is booked out all the time, and insanely expensive. So I guess they're doing something right? But it does not bring me joy.

I'm sure it's mostly just like, "it used to be cheap and now it's expensive," but Airbnb just has terrible vibes now.

@bielleogy Avoid the ones that have auto-defrost function. It melts the ice periodically which have negative effect on the samples in there

@JillianWeise I'm so torn on this issue. I'm most likely looking at a slow, painful and expensive death (I'm in the US) in the next ten years. I'd appreciate having the option when the time comes. OTOH, pushing it into areas outside terminal illnesses or intractable pain is horrifying.
