Credit it where credit is due, after my recent tweet about a fake phone from @EE they have turned around, resolved the situation in a better way than expect and all is well again. 👍

@savill58124 @EE No I went through the ombudsman and EE agreed to cancel the entire contract, give me a refund and put some cash on top as a goodwill gesture.

@EE what’s the situation with no service at all in Scarborough? I can’t even make a phone call to your customer service team to find out. Currently missing work due to this. 👍

@Nomme1992 @EE Christ! Seems they really don’t care about the customer once they’ve got us to sign on the dotted line. Thank you for taking the time to respond and give advice, I will explore all avenues suggested. I’ve just received my ADR from EE so will be contacting ombudsman today.

Just been through a massive issue myself, only with the delivery of an empty box in place of the expected iPhone 17 Pro Max. Only resolved in the end by challenging DPD on their proof of delivery and forcing their teams to investigate. However, I also wrote to my MP who advocated for me, contacted the police, action fraud and started an ombudsman case…. So it’s an uphill fight to get EE to even care let alone investigate!
Ultimately, this is not the responsibility of the customer to do this… poor customer service and training in the EE “Executive” Complaints Team; EE is effectively paying a team to just out and out reject claims, apply no common sense or support for customers loyal to them for many years and, when they are proven wrong, have to be forced to apologise. I feel for you Liam, I hope you too can get justice in this; challenge DPD and go via the Ombudsman, that’s my only advise. Oh and, don’t let EE just say “no”, they are responsible to provide a service and your goods and, they are not!

Nobody buy phones online from @EE. You’ll get a clearly fake iPhone delivered in its place and EE will simply say not their problem and refuse to accept any responsibility despite in store staff confirming you got a fake sent out. Disgraceful.

@li4mb0wman @EE This is why I wont have a phone off EE. Been an Orange/EE customer since 1993 but I will only buy directly off Apple in a store. Unbox it in the store and walk out knowing its all correct.

@2018Stevie @EE Yes the IMEI on the slip doesn’t correspond the the IMEI on the phones box.

@li4mb0wman @EE Problem EE have is trying to figure out where this was placed in the lineage. Simple way is to check the IMEI or the order they sent. Do you have the invoice slip thats in the bag? IMEI is on there

@2018Stevie @EE It’s not even in the correct box. I ordered the orange 17 pro max and I got a blue fake in a box for a blue iPhone. So it’s not a case of a tampered seal, the whole box and phone have been swapped somewhere along the line before it got to me.

@li4mb0wman @EE Hard to say where the swap originated, possibly from the factory in China, possibly from the EE warehouse. Very easy to remove the security seal without actually tearing it off and resealing it

@ACooper1991 @GothGuyGamer @EE I had to tell them myself to block the phone via its IMEI number. I don’t think they have a clue what they’re doing and they just want to push the blame onto anyone but themselves.

@li4mb0wman @GothGuyGamer @EE I don't understand how they can contest it, they have a record of the IMEI of every phone sent out. It should take them 20 seconds to realize it doesn't match!

@li4mb0wman @EE I ordered some AirPods from them for a Christmas present, the box came damaged with the security seals torn off, sent straight back, and ordered from curry’s instead, didn’t fill me with confidence

@LiamNorris5 @EE Oh Christ. I’ve just started the ombudsman process now and felt optimistic but perhaps I shouldn’t feel so.. crazy how it’s been a known issue for a while now and the companies are refusing to do anything about it.

@li4mb0wman @EE Happened to a mate of mine last year, upgraded to a 16pro, got sent a useless bit of plastic, my mate went through all the channels and the omsbudsman and got absolutely nowhere, the omsbudsman said to compensate him and send him the correct phone but EE refused point blank

@angel_high9 @EE I am now. Especially as they’ve just accused me of buying the fake myself to blag another iPhone. Worst customer service ever 😂

@savill58124 @EE Terrible customer service from them. Even if it’s not happened in the warehouse it’s clearly a problem with dpd and they should be sorting it out not letting it carry on.
