I was particularly impressed by the differences in designs, especially the groups who worked on solving the challenges of farming in drought affected areas by designing a water conserving, self irrigating system. All coded and designed independently. Agency and empowerment!

I'm wowed by my Y5's future farms. Following #DesignThinking principles stds designed prototypes for their vertical farm concept to solve HK's over reliance on importing food. Y5 leveraged @elecfreaks water sensors and @microbit_edu to drive their designs #makered #edtech

@Mr_ODonovan @stulowe80 @microbit_edu @elecfreaks The best board we have found is the @elecfreaks Wukong. It comes with a chargeable lithium battery and can run multiple servos and LEDs. The Sensor:bit is also pretty good as you can run the board though a USB which gives the micro:bit more consistent power for the servos.

@CodeJoyEdu @microbit_edu We mostly used @Elecfreaks Octopus:bit & Sensor:bit. These work well if the batteries are fresh or plugged into a USB hub. For consistent and reliable power we used @elecfreaks Wukong as it has its own rechargeable lithium battery. Best choice for bigger projects.

@WhyMaker @microbit_edu The project was really just to introduce safely using glue guns and craft knives, but I wanted to make it meaningful. It's the first time they have used servos so I'd hope they would see potential for next time.

@gjrasgado We used Playht to create the audio file from our monologue write up. Then we used Vidnoz to create the avatar.

🚀 To experience the challenges faced by early space pioneers and innovators, Y5 designed & launched @microbit_edu rockets & returned them safely. Overcoming drag & gravity, rockets achieved 4g acceleration. Ss then reflected on the attributes needed to be a successful pioneer.

@HendrickseEDU @microbit_edu We found a launcher on amazon.com and just hooked up an electronic bike pump to get a consistent pressure.
