You're deciding what might happen in the unfortunate case you separate. In essence, you're deciding what to do at your best so you don't have to decide at your worst In fact, with urban women earning more than men in their 20s, increasingly women are requesting prenups! In most other parts of life, we intuitively understand the need for contracts & planning. But in the Disney-ified American romantic ideal of marriage, we still find the idea of a prenup to be off-putting, even revolting. If you qualify for a prenup, it's already an overwhelming and confusing process. For one of the most taboo topics in personal finance, prenups don't deserve this kind of snarky article.
