@RetirementRight What if these were another country’s early launch detection system? The US might be shooting them down to increase its nuclear threat to that country. Seems more plausible than aliens. Also, in a strange way, aliens might be a less threatening narrative than nuclear escalation.
English

@swingtrader If this were another country’s early launch detection or deterrent, by shooting these objects down, the US might be trying to make a show of force to perhaps increase its threat of its own nuclear response. It would be a step towards escalation or perhaps deescalation.
English

@kkernttb This could be another country’s early launch detection or deterrent system. When the US did not need to threaten a nuclear launch, it didnt bother to shoot these down. With the potential for a launch, this might be a good show of force by indirectly signaling a potential launch.

@DeItaone Why hasn’t anybody brought up the reasonable theory that these objects could be a type of early launch detection or deterrent system and that this could be pointing to preparation for a nuclear escalation? All I see is “aliens” in my timeline…

@eliant_capital Early launch detection or deterrent system. US is shooting them down in case nuclear escalation occurs. It would be a show of force in case another nation was planning to use nuclear weapons. In peaceful times, US wouldn’t care to shoot them down b/c no plan to use nuclear force.

Asked whether he ruled out extraterrestrial origins of the objects that the U.S. shot down, the commander of the Air Force’s Northern Command said, “I haven’t ruled out anything at this point.” Officials discounted the idea that they were alien visitors. nyti.ms/40UlvWz
