@limakilo87 @PolitlcsUK @guardian Of course it's the issue. Who cares if reform got funding from JCB and bought pothole pros.. when pothole pros should be bought by councils and used..?
Makes no sense.
English

🚨 NEW: The Lib Dems have reported Reform UK to the Electoral Commission after it was revealed JCB donated £200,000 to the party
JCB's "Pothole Pro" is often promoted by top Reform figures and on some local election leaflets

@MarkusOtte7 @BellafonteHairy @ChrisO_wiki I think it's obvious here that a normal thinking person would be shocked by the killings, and that was the intention of showing the surrender, and the pleading, before the killing. And honestly, do you think the officer has time to do that, given the circumstances? Missed context?
English

@BellafonteHairy @ChrisO_wiki Hanks reaction as an officer should have been to report the incident. He didn’t do it and accepted it. In the whole context of the scene it was shown as US troops fighting heroically. Part of that is shooting German PoWs . Who cares?
English

There's a scene near the start of Saving Private Ryan where the US troops get to the cliff top and two men in German uniform attempt to surrender before being shot - but they're not Germans, they're conscripted Czechs, and they're shouting in Czech: "Please don't shoot me! I am not German, I am Czech, I didn't kill anyone!" The Osttruppen were among the most unfortunate combatants in WW2, and many didn't have a good outcome.

In Normandy in 1944 the Germans had "static" divisions along the coast. No transport, except maybe some horses and wagons. Their orders were to basically die in place and act as a speedbump. A lot of these units were Czechs, Ukrainians, Poles and other nationalities that had been prisoners of war but pressed into service on the front line. Naturally, they surrendered pretty easily.
English

@PolymerCan @PolitlcsUK @guardian That's not what is happening though. Did you read the post or article?
English

@PolitlcsUK @guardian Crying about being donated equipment to fix roads! What a joke, as if they don’t want the roads fixed. UK Roads are the worst they’ve ever been
English

The real issue here is that other councils are NOT adopting the pothole pro - even though it has been proven to speed up repairs and reduce costs.
Why? Because Labour councils won't support a "right wing" company.
So, why aren't we investigating the inverse of this? Why are councils wilfully neglecting their duty to service the people by not buying equipment because of politics?
English

@IB_Lond @PolitlcsUK @guardian I think it's the donation to the party for an advert for a product the council might buy
English

@PolitlcsUK @guardian Used widely by Stoke-on-Trent City Council (L), Coventry City Council (L), Leeds City Council (L), Darlington Borough Council (L), Hertfordshire County Council (LD), Somerset Council (LD), Bristol City Council (LD) etc etc
Perhaps it’s just a good, and money saving, bit of kit.
English

@Sureflame @Osint613 The guy has a knife, and has just stabbed two people. He won't release the knife.
English

@ChrisLawesome @Osint613 Yeah it looks like they pulled those kicks. Personally, I think it would have been safer to use more forceful kicks, but obviously they're trained to arrest.
English

@Cathy59 @Osint613 @metpoliceuk The knife attacker was still holding a knife, refusing to give it up. They used increasing force, until they managed to pry the knife from his hands, then stopped. This has always been acceptable, and it's not just acceptable for police, but everyone.
English

@Osint613 @metpoliceuk Mark Rowley since when was it acceptable for a police officer to kick someone in the head that was already on the ground? Where did you learn this behaviour?
English

@thomas_bhoy @OctopusEnergy Just reduce the payment amount. Withdraw the credit if you wish. What are you behaving like this for? You will only pay for what you use, so the profit isn't in your credit.
English

600 quid in credit and @OctopusEnergy are wanting another 70 quid a month off of me,day light robbery these energy companies are a disgrace its all about massive profits, I am absolutely raging😡😡😡
English

@EricLDaugh Does he actually think the troops in Italy, Germany and Spain are there to somehow help those countries? Guys are about to lose some nice overseas postings 😖
English

@ColbyBadhwar But Clash Report doesn't say "In Germany". It says "Germany"
English

Oh look, Clash Report spreading more disinformation.
Rheinmetall does not produce 1.1 million artillery rounds in Germany. They have production facilities all around the world.
That 1.1 million figure is not validated either. They were projecting to hit that next year. Need to wait for their next quarterly earnings report to confirm.

English

@Luckyman_44 @ColbyBadhwar @planefag Only if they plan on making a final stand in Kyiv using drones. Need more artillery, guided missiles and heavy weapons before progress is made in removing the Russians. That is the unfortunate reality. That needs to happen before more robust countermeasures become widespread.
English

@ColbyBadhwar @planefag Hopefully they make 5 times as many drones. Just saying
English

@xlivingdead @PrivateBrewing @ColbyBadhwar @planefag Plea? So nothing happened then. You're talking tripe?
English

I am up to date, there were recent pleas for the US to contribute more to the effort once again. Germany now being the largest contributor, after over 24 months of overwhelming US primary contribution under the Biden admin, is perhaps where things should have been in the first place.
The number going down (good) is a separate issue, and a byproduct of sane leadership finally pulling funding from this EU project because it’s an absolute mess. The real forever-war.
English

@mysticalcolt @ColbyBadhwar Stock to support training, operations and the potential dramatic rise in consumption during a larger conflict. It actually really does, particularly if it plans on supporting allies or buyers.
English

@ColbyBadhwar Also the US doesn’t have a huge need for massive artillery production so why would we be making a million shells a year when the US army barely has tubed artillery
English

@Cypher79C @ArmyRecognition A long time. They will need more than AI generated images to copy a tank.
English

@ArmyRecognition @TrentTelenko They add rivets to the Abram’s or was that the Kontakt attachment points Ukraine added. Also what’s with the piping on the back lights?
English

@ELNVdc @PolitlcsUK I think the important point here, is that the US won't do a damn thing to the Falkland Islands. It has no intention to, nor the stomach for it.
English

No. But we're pretty damn pissed that the Chagos were almost sold out from under us and that staging was originally denied for the war. That special relationship isn't feeling so special to us right now. So, a few days before the USS Nimitz was scheduled to conduct an exercise with the Argentinian Navy off the coast of the Falklands a memo is "leaked" expressing our displeasure.
This is a giant fu to the UK right before the King arrives to express our displeasure at the shit Starmer has been pulling.
English

🚨 NEW: No 10 has responded to leaked emails showing the US is considering a review of its stance on the Falkland Islands
“We could not be clearer about the UK's position on the Falkland Islands. Its longstanding and unchanged sovereignty rests with the UK and the island's right to self-determination is paramount, and it's been our consistent position and will remain so”
English

@ELNVdc @PolitlcsUK It was a US supported deal, that secured both US and British military presence on the island for the foreseeable. It was even supported by Donald Trump, until he changed his mind. Worth pointing out, Trump has spent his term attacking all his allies in incredible fashion.
