In the months past, the New Vision would never admit, let alone publish that Anita Among had blocked the NUP, FDC, and other independent candidates from running against her. Instead, they praised her and always found reason to defend her and the EC in these schemes. Now, they can even interview those blocked women and make it a front page story. Indeed, power is transient, and when it moves, it moves. I hope those who wield and abuse power today have picked some lessons!

This sanction against Mafwele for the torture of @bonifacemwangi and @AAgather is an important signal to state actors about TRANSNATIONAL REPRESSION! It is unacceptable! And there will be repercussions! As I said before dear World stay away from Suluhu - she only brings bad luck and bad karma! Kimemramba one of her errand boys sasa mwacheni kila mtu ashinde mechi zake! #SamiaMustGo

Let’s imagine what you are saying has sense, in the event that @paul_mwiru doesn’t win as you claim, what barrier both legal and from any other citation of your choice could stop his appointment as LOP? Stop clowning for likes and show off of pseudo intellectualism.
Kisitu John Bosco@johnboscokisitu

Fronting him as your candidate in the speakership race is cheating the whole Busoga's chance to have a LOP. Mwiiru is the most credible NUP candidate from Busoga and could serve better as the LOP . Why do you front him on the position that he wont win? Lets be fair banange.

National Unity Platform
This morning, our top leadership interfaced with the 12th parliamentary caucus and had constructive engagements concerning our alternative vision. As the NUP, we believe that the parliament needs to regain its autonomy, which is not the case at the moment. There is no way a serving army officer should engage in partisan politics and endorse individuals to occupy parliamentary leadership. This alone depicts that we shall not have an independent parliament. In a quest to try to restore the image and functionality of parliament as envisaged in the constitution, we have fielded the Jinja South East MP Hon. Paul Mwiru as our official candidate for speakership of the 12th parliament. We shall engage like minded political parties to nominate the Deputy Speaker so that we have a joint-opposition voice in our struggle to rescue parliament from the prevailing captivity guised as a fight against corruption. #FreeUgandaNow

Lord Justice Egonda Ntende’s powerful parting shot hit hard: Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro locked up on a minor, obscure and unproven charge while his wife Edith Katende Mufumbiro lost her battle with cancer. Their young children had to mourn and bury their mother alone. No child should endure this pain. Justice without compassion is empty; it must have a soul. Thank you, Lord Justice, for speaking truth. Rest in peace Edith. 🙏🏽 #JusticeForMufumbiro
