In 1966, Norman Johnson found 92 convex polyhedra made only of regular polygons that didn't belong to any known family. He guessed that was all of them.
In 1969, Victor Zalgaller proved that there are exactly 92.

@amwilson_opera We have the same sort of thing during our Remembrance Day coverage. When there’s a French part of the speeches they voice translate over them. We have two official languages and some of us enjoy listening to the French.

Was the thinking really that the British public can't cope with a few Italian words? Or was the problem that the presenter couldn't pronounce them?! Weird.

Caught a little of the TV coverage of the Pope's funeral. What on earth was the thinking behind "St Mary Major" (even Radio 5 Live coped with the Italian)? It sounded so daft, and the translation wasn't even idiomatic. When Notre Dame caught fire, they didn't call it "Our Lady".
