It's funny, I looked at my X profile and saw my last actual post was in September of last year, and I probably posted less than 50 times last year. The reality is that every time I visit X, I feel like it's just a big pile of bullshit. - super fratty young guys with no experience - no actual heart, connection, or empathy - bullies saying how they are smarter than 99% of others - you are behind, or some variant of you're not going to make it (NGTMI) It's sad. To be honest, last year, I basically advised companies that wanted growth on X that this is the playbook. Say controversial shit, bully people. Pick fights, find rivals, and do whatever it takes to solicit a response. It works... the data supports it.

If we outsource our collective logical reasoning to AI we are stagnating our own ability to build sound logic trees. How do we know what truth or objectivity is without being able to evaluate the criteria ourselves?

Hallucinations are going down sure. Our ability to use AI to drive value is in our ability to think and ask the questions which will enable it to solve actual problems.

The net creation of productivity is now basically becoming a commodity within technology due to AI. Most of the world is still not actually putting AI in prod, even though everyone says they are. Whats being said publically vs whats real are very different realities.

The amount of buggy vibe coded stuff being released is though the roof. General consumers will churn in seconds. Devs will fuck around and try dozens of tools a day to find one gem. But the volume of crap is kind of mind blowing.

My wife, her family and all her friends are from Venezuela. This is the GREATEST thing that has happened to their country in 25+ years. A total dictatorship had Maduro who was the driver of the previous president running a literal drug cartel out of the country. He turned the #1 wealthiest country in South America, #1 country for oil reserves, #1 country for Miss Americas, #1 country for tallest waterfall and SO many more special things... Into a place that I personally cannot even visit for fear of getting kidnapped and ransom. Basic medicine is not available, food is hard to get plus expensive, power goes out daily, media is completely censored, dissidents are put in jail and Maduro gave all the money to his friends / allies. While all the hardworking and smart Venezuelans left the country in the LARGEST EVER exodus of any country. 8 million Venezuelans. I don't fully comprehend or will speculate why the US got involved but I'm grateful to return the country back to its amazing roots of democracy.

Lesson learned moving three full grown women (my fiancé, her mom, and her grandmother) out at once and moving them to three separate locations is, probably unheard of, not something I fully realized we were doing, not advisable, and certainly the hardest physical thing I have ever done. Let alone being the shared man among all of them. Send me prayers and good vibes! Thank the lord this will be over Saturday! 😵

@shaig Cincinnati is also great. I frequently go to Columbus, and it has a great young vibe. For me, the best part about Cincinnati is that it's a short flight to New York.

@shaig Exactly, I don’t agree with his views but I’m so disappointed in our country. Feels so dark.

Very few are admitting it, but AI companies are struggling internally even if they are publicly "crushing it." There is a cooling happening in AI and the data supports it. You are not hallucinating. The hype cycle is as real as the actual technology itself. Nothing surprises me about this. I've talked to dozens of AI founders and they all shared the sentiment that growth will always go up and solve all problems. The fundamentals of growth never change, no matter how much you think it's different now.

Life update - I’m engaged. 💍 I’m so incredibly happy and excited. I found what I can only describe as a dream. A wonderful deeply kind woman who amazes me everyday with her beauty and depth. Plus, she is a full-stack engineer in Cincinnati so it’s a match made in heaven.
