Anyone can become disabled or chronically ill. It’s not a choice. It’s not a moral failing. It’s not something you can “try harder” your way out of. You can be the healthiest person in the world & completely disabled in an instant. It’s a minority group you can join anytime.

The real disgrace in UK's welfare bill is that so much of it is spent on people in work. We are subsidising jobs that do not pay enough to live on. If we genuinely made sure work paid a decent living, then we would not have such a high bill.

Being chronically ill

Every discussion of disability benefits on TV is nothing but a collection of ignorant journalists and talking heads with zero personal experience or knowledge outright lying about the subject repeatedly as they compete to demonise the most.

It’s really weird how people can spend just one minute in this world and still decide disabled people are the real villains of the piece.

@m77kat77 @timboxall It’s not easy. Please bear in mind many disabled people with certain conditions aren’t at the same starting point as you might be. There’s cognitive dysfunction, chronic pain, fatigue and exhaustion to name just some of the things that are constant.

@timboxall It’s about 14 questions after filling in your details Explain how you need helping washing, eating . Etc as easy to fill in and loads I know have it who should have it taken away
